Lavenders_Blue
Tango and Harry have between them consumed a WHOLE dead rabbit this afternoon (and by whole I mean bones, fur - the lot!). I assume one of them must have caught it as it looked remarkably fresh and I can't imagine any other animal would have caught a rabbit and abandoned it at the bottom of a hedge? Out of preference I wouldn't have let them eat it, but neither of them would relinquish their prize! So, should I expect any upset tummies tonight, or should they be okay? Both dogs are regularly wormed and de-flead so not too worried about parasites, more concerned about a sleepness night No tea tonight for the dogs! The Dogmother
I wouldn't worry, mine regularly eat the rabbits they catch, just expect neat little fur wrapped parcels from their botties the next day
Seagazer
only natural I know but yuk. I have no idea if it would have any effect, its what they would eat in the wild so to speak and as they've had worming tablets etc I should think they'll be fine. I'm glad mine hasn't done this (yet)
Snowy
Gross aren't they? We met a lab out walking the other day - he was proudly carrying a dead rabbit around. Luckily I spotted what he had before my two did and managed to distract them. They've eaten a couple of myxy rabbits lately, not something we want to encourage! The Dogmother
one of mine insists on parading their catch too, then trying to rub it against my legs
Lavenders_Blue
No chance of them bringing it close enough to rub against my legs Tango growled at me and then ran off with her furry trophy, naughty girl. She has been fast asleep on her bed looking very smug since we came back from our walk - it's amazing how sleepy a dog with a full tummy can be Harry has vomited most of his back up during the evening... Will look forward to the furry parcels tomorrow!!!

The Dogmother
No. it's species specific and they're supposed to be fit for human consumption, but there's no way I'd eat an infected rabbit.
