Can anyone help with my problem please. Due to shoulder problems I am now unable to keep my chickens and with the help of my daughter have been trying to dismantle my eglu. My daughter released the top easily but the next step is to remove the phillips head screws which seems impossible. This was put together my Omlet on delivery but the screws wont move using the screwdriver. It isn't that theye too tight, but the '+' shape in the top of both screws looks misshapen so wont budge. Can anyone advise me how to solve this problem???

I seem to remember having this problem ages ago when I was changing from an Omlet run to a walk run. I do remember putting some bike oil on the screws to try to loosen things off a bit. I think I then carefully tried other types and sizes of screwdriver to see if one would manage to catch and turn the screw. It must have worked as I got it taken apart :D .

Which screws are they? if its the screws that holds the front to the base of the Eglu mine are all really stiff and the heads have been wrecked so they wont unscrew but 99.9% of second hand Eglus are sold without full dismantling anyway

If its the screws that hold the run to the Eglu then that is more tricky, WD40 may do the job or using pliers to try to turn the screw not a screwdriver

If you get really stuck the separate the end sections of the run and sell the Eglu with the first half still attached, if you resort to cutting the screws then it will be hard for the next owners to secure the run. they'd need a big car to collect it partly assembled though
