LolaLayla
Hoping not to get call from neighbours Woke up early this morning to hear one of the girls giving it her all. I rushed downstairs to silence. Everyone looked innocent. I think it was probably Estelle who is in the broody cage aka Room 101 (according to OH). I had to put her in yesterday and she was annoyed as she is in the rabbits WIR and they go under her cage to eat the spilled food However she seemed to get used to them and they were nowhere near her when I went out. When I started to use the cage I could not lift it in and out the shed at night due to a back problem and so put it in the rabbits WIR but will have to change things if this happens again. I am not sure if we are allowed to keep chickens so am always a bit worried if they get noisy
Groovychook
Naughty Estelle Probably a bad tempered outburst! My broody girls are just the same when they first go in the cage. Fingers crossed she'll calm down soon...
Duncan08
I'm finding all my girls noisy first thing at the mo. I think they are enjoying the change in the weather. Hope they settle down again soon. I love to hear them during day, but worry about the neighbours when it is at 6.00am! Fortunately our neighbours like them too.
blueandwhite
I fret too, I'm lucky here as no-one has ever complained but just in process of moving and hoping new neighbours don't mind either. I checked with council if it was okay to keep them and it was. However, as I'm prepareing to move I've noticed on my deeds that only 'normal' domestic pets are allowed on the premises - whoops! It also states no work vans overnight and no satellite dishes - but no-one has taken any notice of either of those so I suppose I could have argued my case if it had come up. Not going to check new deeds - I've got my chooks now so will hope for best.
LolaLayla
Estelle has been quiet as a mouse all day so wonder if something other than the rabbits spooked her Thinking of Mr Fox or something else (don't want to mention the 'R' word). I know at DD's BF's the deeds do not allow 'whirlies' although everyone has them and there are pet restrictions. When I was considering keeping hens I checked with the council but they were only bothered if I was going to keep a huge number. I asked the neighbours and they were all ok about it but I did say I was only having 2, I now have 4, and the noise she made would have woken the dead
