New hens not going into Eglu Go Up

I aquired 3 new girls today,neighbour has split from husband and finding it hard so asked if I wanted their 3 girls so I said yes and she can come and see them whenever she likes.She never let hers run around were just for the eggs so when I let them run around netted of area today there were lots of happy noises from them Ones a normal brown gingernut,ones a black with really pretty green shine to it and the other is a diddy little light sussex pekin I think,son was very stumped when he saw mini version of our nugget and mayo Just a few curffles at the moment little one is in with my little ones as my big girls are mean and love picking my little girls up and throwing them around but were all out FR for a few hours today when new ones arrived and wasnt too bad,new big girls made themselves at home in cube and run and wouldnt let the old girls in too lay you should of heard the racket from mayo she was not best pleased Fingers crossed all goes well as I want to mix them all together when I get a WIR hopefully in the next month or two and wont have 2 houses and runs to clean out.Will get some piccys soon when they settle down.

That was kind of you Kazzy73 to take them on. I guess they are sort of 'chickens of fate'.

The little " light sussex" pekin is a columbian.......I wanted one of those when I was first starting my Pekin flock, never have managed it tho ....beautiful little birds

Well intros going well not nearly as much bullying as when I did light sussex-bluebelle intros just Nugget (lowest old girls) letting them know shes higher than them,brown girl has taken charge of getting out of cube first in the morning which was Tikkas job (head girl) and brown girl and black girl have taken unto themselves that the grub and glug is theirs and the gravity feeders are for the other five big girls They have found that they love corn and sweetcorn as neighbour never gave them treats so whenever they see me walking down path have learnt to charge around like the old girls .....didnt take long hey.Little new girl is enjoying it in with other old little girls,is very timid and can run at the speed of a roadrunner just waiting for her to "mim mim" and she speeds past me but no bulling at all from the little girls just happy noises.

 

Chook n boo mum,the piccys are of girls I got last year but turned out to be boys and went back as made very loud crowing noises much to my surprise.Will have to get some piccys taken soon as away to devon next week with the boys and oh as girls got jobs etc so will be strange only taking 3 of the gang instead of the five
