Egluntyne
Ooooh .... gorgeous. When I was little, my idea of heaven was to play with the contents of the button tin at home. A treat saved for rainy days or illness only.

Jennifer Jane
They are beautiful Plum. I have a thing for buttons too and have a bit of a button stash, but nothing so lovely as those. My hairdresser's husband has button phobia - she once bought herself a top decorated with buttons and had to take it back because it gave him the creeps! He'd be no good married to me

craftyhunnypie
I also had a chocolate brazil nuts tin full of buttons! Just like Egluntyne, I played for hours with them on rainy days. I love those buttons Plum. Droolworthy! But guess what, I have some already - as they sell them at the posh wool shop in Tregaron...6 minutes drive away! Olly
Another one here whose favourite treat on a rainy day was to play with the 'button tin'. Any old garments had the buttons cut off before being cut up for cleaning rags, and there were some fabulous old buttons in there. I wish I knew what happened to them all ... My sister has the tin, which is now polished up nicely and on her shelf, but none of us can remember what became of the buttons!
chickencam
Another button fan here I would spend hours sorting my mum's tin out when I was little and it had a fab smell. I have inherited all of my granny's buttons in recent years, they have come in dribs and drabs as they have been found in nooks and cranies by my grandad and uncle. I have some and my ED had the rest, they are amazing and we have thousands literally, some very old, she came from a few generations of seamstresses, ED has the interest but it passed me by, I am more into knitting, tapestry and cross stich. craftyhunnypie
You should see the buttons I've bought recently. I got 3 massive flower buttons. FLower shaped, bright plastic buttons that ooze gorgeousness & being slightly mad! Emma.x
