Ygerna
It was my first ever! I've been trying to learn to crochet for about two years, on and off, but, I gave in and bought 'The Happy Hooker' book, and last week, whilst camping I managed to get the hang of the starting chain and single crochet. Today, I decided I'd go for a 'Granny Square'. The finished article is not pretty. Its not square and it has holes in the wrong places etc but, I believe i know why (mainly too many interuptions by small people needing food, drink, toilet, cuddles etc) so, the next one *should be better. Sorry its such a trivial post but, I'm so pleased with my effort

Jennifer Jane
I started out with granny squares and my first was more of a granny rhombus. I'm still not much good at crochet but granny squares are so versatile - as well as blankets you can make belts, bags, scarves, place mats and cushions amongst many other things I'm sure. Soon you'll be churning out all sorts of goodies. Well done - can we see it? Emma.x
bluekarin
Well done! I thought they were really difficult when I first started crocheting - just couldn't understand the instructions. I have done some recently, but they turned into large square blankets fro my two daughters beds. The irony is, the day you need a granny rhombus, you won't be able to make one
Christian
Well done you! I have my first crochet lessons on Wednesday at the local craft centre. 3 hour lessons for £6. chickencam
I have yet to master crochet, I have been knitting as long as I can remember, but crochet has always seemed so scarey. My MIL is very good at it and has tried to teach me, I bought a book for ED at Christmas I must take a look at it myself. Well done you.
