Bought a new sewing machine

Recommended Posts

Have been thinking about a new machine for a while now & researched a lot. At first I was going to go for one with a lot of stitches on. But I had an embroidery machine once, that stayed in a cupboard, mainly as I like to hand embroider & hand embellish a lot. I looked at that many - you name it, I have researched. Bernina, Pfaff, Janome, Singer,Brother, blah blah

So I have decided not to go too fancy & bought a Toyota Quilt master. :D Got lots of different feet with it & extension table.

Can't wait for it to come - please hurry up postie / courier.

With the machine you've got Plum - I'd have thought it might be a bit like a beginners machine. But I'm happy to hear you say that it has all you'd want - must be alright then - as your work is fab! 8)

My hand quilted little wall hanging from my craft class is coming on - it's leather work next month - so finishing our quilting is now up to us. I'm doing stitch in the ditch at the moment - then I need to do some quilting stitches to ' bring it out'. Mums really got into this, as she's come up the past 2 months craft class & stayed with me. Hers is very quilted already - fast worker she is!

Nice bag Kazzy :D

Emma, self threading, drop feeddogs, the different feet, selection of stitches, you'll be able to have such fun and it'll take you a long way. :D

Mine's a posh one cos it gives you useless things like a beep and stops if your thread breaks which it does all the time even though my threads not broken grrrrrr. Can't be bothered to take it back up to sheffield to get it fixed, well not until I finally lose it  Actually I ought to get it serviced with all the work I do.

What the heck are drop feeddogs? Now you know I want a doggy, but that is just teasing!

Well I thought it would be here today, as this morning it said it's in Aberystwyth depot & ' loaded onto drivers van'. It's not come. :( Oh well it has to come tomorrow now! It has to!

Some people wouldn't understand the excitement over a new machine.

Wonder what I'll make first? Hoping to get some Gutermann metallic thread tomorrow, to try out some of the stitches with on a plain fabric. A quick trip to Calico Kate ( shop) & a browse in the Jen Jones Welsh Quilt Centre is a good excuse just to buy a reel of cotton. No doubt a few fat quarters & some trimmings will slip into my bag too.

Arrrrrggggh. We rang the depot this morning as it said it had been delivered at 8pm last night!!! Big Panic! They hadn't a clue what had happened, but it seems the HNDL depot at Aber don't know what their employees are doing! It now says it has been on the drivers van again since 10am this morning!! We are presuming that means it's been re checked in for delivery tomorrow. I flippin' hope so, as I'm in such a bad mood now!!!

HDNL have botched up big time!

Sounds like there will be no stopping you now :D

We had awful trouble when ED bought a sewing machine (from Coopers) a couple of years back, it didn't come when it said then we had to return it because it was faulty, they were horrible about it and I had to get OH involved (he is a solicitor) I hate doing that but sometimes needs must. The manager was as nice as pie with him and they dispatched the replacement same day for special delivery on a Saturday morning but the delivery company denied all knowledge of Coopers paying for special delivery and we had to collect it from a Parcel Force depot about 12 miles away so that ED could have it for the last week of the summer holidays which she had spent the rest of working to earn the money to buy it  Sorry rant over.
