House MD 221B
our new four were silent for almost the first 3 weeks, then they started getting a little chattier, and now they're as chatty as the old girls. I don't think you have anything to worry about, if they're young, they're just getting settled and getting the picture before joining in
Clucking_Mad
When I first got my 3 girls last year they were very quite to start with and then once they settled in and we all got into a daily routine they started to chat to each other and to me and now they won't shut up but it is lovely to hear them chatting and when they start talking to me when I bring them food and how excited they get. I'm sure once they are fully settled and they are used to the routine they will be chatty. Laura X
dance in the dark
I agree, mine have got chattier. My araucanas are still quite quiet though, but my cream legbars are actively noisy little beggars! Some breeds are more chatty than others. I have heard that modern game, campines, any leghorn or leghorn based bird (hence legbars) are all pretty chatty. You might just have to get some more chickens.....
