dance in the dark
So, I finally got my naked necks, it has been a long wait, but when I spoke to Shelly Rogerson earlier this week she said she had some cuckoo tnns ready, so here we are!!! sjp
very nice how old are they are they a pair or 2 girls?
dance in the dark
Oh how unlike me to be unforthcoming with info. Yes two girls, hence the long wait. They are slightly different in age as even an idiot like me can tell you. One is around 17/18 weeks, the other one about 14 weeks. At the moment I quite like Nella and Natasha as names. Nella satisfies the grandmotherly name vibe I like for chickens and Natasha has an eastern European vibe I am finding hard to turn down for a TNN. The older one was the only hen in a batch of cockerels so I was happy to have her and they seem happy enough together. I thought even though they older one could be on layers by now I'll keep them both on growers as she hasn't laid yet and I know some people keep them on growers till first egg, and I had bought some growers anyway just in case. I cannot tell you how please I am with them, lovely clean necks, a bit flighty, but should calm down with a little patience, and I have been waiting so long to get some (I couldn't find any other breeders within a two hour drive who looked to have some available soon)
Alis girls
What colour eggs do they lay?
sjp
the older one's probably only 2 or 3 weeks of laying. I like the names by the way the seem to suit TNNs.
WitchHazel
Lovely girls. One of my first ever chickens was a TNN.
dance in the dark
I think the eggs they lay are tinted, very light brown colour, though I am not sure....(I have seen some decriptions as tinted, others as brown)

majuka
I am very envious - I love naked necks! Yours are stunning.
Chortle Chook
That picture of the naked neck girl looking at the non naked neck girly is so funny. They both look as if they are saying 'what's wrong with YOU'. I laughed and laughed.
laurmurf
they are gorgeous! (from another TNN mummy) and Shelley is fantastic, isn't she? She loves her naked necks too I've got a quartet of bantam TNNs and they are the friendliest, cheekiest, funniest bunch ever. My cockerel has a very light crow so we can keep him in the garden with the rest of the girls. He has a bit of trouble with the LF girls in my flock but enjoys the attempts! sjp
you know for a breed that "Ooops, word censored!"ody is suppost to like there's an awful lot of us keeping them or thinking about keeping them as they say naked necks rule
craftyhunnypie
Awww cute. Not got TNN's, but have got Showgirls. They always make me feel like I should knit them neck tubes to keep their necks warm - but they are surprisingly very hardy! Lovely girls yours are! Emma.
