counturchickens Posted August 11, 2012 Share Posted August 11, 2012 I have just joined freegle rather than freecycle so we'll see how that goes. I have a few good pieces to gift as am moving house. I did get a few things from freecycle as well as donating quite a bit, including a tv which I imagine went straight on e bay. Part of me thinks why not, I might have taken it to the tip and I couldn't be bothered to sell it but my oh wasn't happy that the 2 blokes in a van who turned up didn't look like the struggling mum who asked for it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One person collected a swingball set a few weeks ago and just took it without a word. Made me feel a bit uneasy to be honest. Since then he has asked for everything I have offered saying it is for a community allotment (a washing line on a allotment - really? ). He keeps emailing me to ask for the items when I don't respond. I've let the moderators know. Am I silly to feel uneasy ? Somehow I doubt that story and since I'm a cub scout leader I've emailed the district commissioner to ask if there is a leader of that name locally. If he isn't a scout leader I think I'll let the moderators know. Someone on ours popped up asking for an eglu once... turned out that she was a friend of our neighbour who had been looking over the fence at our lot.
