cluckingmad
Having an awesome week - four beautiful pekins, three stunning hybrid girls and I really didn't expect OH to let me have my own way any more this side of 2020... so when I commented that another eglu could be a reaaaaally good idea, I fully expected to be given a withering glare and a firm "no" ... so when he said "fair enough, suppose to would help us out if one of the girls was injured/sick/broody/hatching" I almost fell over, then very quickly went to work searching ebay etc before he changed his mind Et voila, this evening I have become the proud new owner of a very snazzy second hand purple eglu with 3m run And now, I really must behave and start saving some pennies! But soooo excited still!! Banties had their first free range this afternoon with our established girls, bit of feather fluffing and initial spats but within a few minutes all was calm and they were all very happily scratching about in the run. Still have the Big Girls in the WIR, the banties in the green eglu classic and the new hybrids in a borrowed coup.. tomorrow I shall be itching to get home from work to give the new eglu a good clean and spray before moving the new hybrid lovlies into it

cluckingmad
Think I just pestered gently for a looooooong time Poor man, he must be sick of my chook obsession Having said that, he classes Wembley (black frizzle pekin) and Morticia (Tish, silver sussex) as 'his' girls! He really is fantastic, he does all the cleaning out and feeding, he says he always feels happier when he's spent a bit of time with the girls And who can resist those goregous little faces peering adoringly at you as you appear with treats
dancing cloud
Well done you! Sounds like you're having a lovely time Never had to persuade an OH, but my dad loves Alice and Angel already. It's a man-and-little-girl thing and with my little girls, the man never stood a chance !
