I haven't checked but I'm sure Prince Harry's actual name is Henry, I think it's traditional with aristocratic types to be called Harry if you're christened Henry. No idea why. Henry VIII was called Harry, Hal and so on. Apologies if I've got that wrong.

Am I the only one who noticed on the TV coverage of the closing ceremony, that we now have HRH Prince ' Henry ' of Wales!!!! Surely this was a boo boo - as it was Prince Harry. They even said Henry in the subtitle!!!

Not even the Newspapers have mentioned it. Have they been told not to? Or have I missed something - is he really Henry?

Spice Girls were the best in the closing Ceremony & Take That of course. I loved the London Skyline.

Jessie J is too much - how much does she love herself!

Fatboy Slim we enjoyed too!

I really liked the closing ceremony. Did not like Jessie J or George Michael (should not have been allowed to sing his new single ), but the rest was fine. I quite liked Russell Brand, even though singing isn't really his forte Stomp were fab. As were Fat Boy Slim and the octopus. Loved the John Lennon face and Freddie dayoing the crowd. All in all, loved it. Little bit too long and was a wee bit tired Monday morning, but wouldn't have missed it.

I did think that John Lennon would have been very proud of Imagine being used in that way, it really summed up the inclusive feel of the whole Olympics

 

I wanted to give Prince Harry a hug when he was announced by his formal name as the Queen's representative, he looked very uncomfortable and nervous. Where was Prince William?

I think Wills had been told to return to RAF Valley - as he had alot of "time off" Personally, I think that this was right, as other Armed Forces have their leave cut and Wills is employed as an Officer - regardless of family

 

Our gorgeous Jenni Pinches has returned home - loved every minute and by the sounds of it all the Athletes were very well looked after. The Aqautic stars are doing the heroes tour - where they will give masterclasses in everything from diving, polo to synchro Cannot wait to see my boys with pointed toes out of the water - they are desperate to race their heroes I do hope the sport support builds now and does not become a lost legacy

Greg Searle was at Danson Park today where London Youth Rowing have been running rowing taster days. There was a film crew there. I said congratulations to him as he walked past with his little boy. He had his medal in his shorts pocket!

 

We've had quite a few enquiries at the canoe club (which is based at Danson Park) from kids and adults interested in taking up canoeing which is a really good thing to come out of the Olympics

Ooh, I really didn't like the closing ceremony

 

We stayed up to watch, having missed the second half of the opening ceremony, expecting great things. I was very disappointed, it was about 2 hours too long, and very disjointed. The Union Flag floor layout was clever, and putting all the athletes in it was good, but I really felt once they were all in it should've been about putting the flame out and passing the baton to Rio. I'm not sure if there was supposed to be any significance in some of the scenery, like the cannon or the giant octopus?

 

I am expecting some sort of law suit to follow between the Gallagher brothers though, following Liam's rendition of Wonderwall with his new band. Thought Noel wrote that for ex wife Meg.

 

The flame was spectacular though, I love the way it opened up, really clever

 

And yes, Prince Harry is actually a Henry, I remember them announcing his name and the debate when it was announced he would be known as Harry, I'm that old

Thanks, I'm very proud of him; he's a brilliant illustrator and his work appears in a lot of adverts - does anyone remember the Volvic fruity water one wit the fruit exploding out of the bottle? - however there's not enough work around for photorealistic stuff

WOW - thats clever - Addidas did a load of mini clips, some with Keith Lemon? One of them shows an artist and Illustrator working together to produce the billboard posters.
