The Dogmother
I've only managed to catch a couple of snippets, but Rosie is keeping me up to speed with a concise version when I get home. We're off next week so I hope to catch a bit then.
patsylabrador
GOLD! The ladies are doing well. The rowing was phenomenal this morning. Some very exciting races, I know the men's eights were disappointed with their bronze but they put on such a thrilling spectacle. Even if they'd come away with no medal I'd still have thought they were brilliant sportsmen. Angry with the badminton players who showed no respect for other players, the audience or all the effort that has been made to put on this event. Glad to see they were disqualified. SarahJo
Will be glued to the swimming tonight as it is YS birthday today and his fave event is 200 Breaststroke - made him a pool cake - hopefully will get pics uploaded in "All things Nice" later My heart sank yesterday when Jenni Pinches fell off the beam, but she then compsed herself for the floor routine and then nailed the vault Well done all the girls securing 6th in team gymnastics
Seagazer
I'm sat waiting at Lee Valley for the men's K1 final. Unfortunately Richard Hounslow didn't make it through to the final. It's been very exciting to see kayakers that are so brilliant. Well done to the women rowers - fantastic! Our first gold Have the badminton players truly been disqualified - if they have then I'm glad. They didn't play with the spirit of the Olympics. Looney
Brilliant! Well done Wiggo and Froome too I'm so pleased that Bradley managed to find his family at the end, I was starting to get a bit panicky for him as he looked concerned that he couldn't find them! Seagazer
Well don Wiggo and Frome - fantastic achievement. Had a great afternoon, the crowd, volunteers, police & army all add to the fun & enjoyment of going to an event. Everyone's so happy - everyone applauds each athelete. Fantastic! patsylabrador
Glad you had a great time. White water is one of my favourite sports to watch. I think GB got 6 medals in all today. ES knows the chap who skydived in as Queen, does that make me famous? All sorts of cycling starting soon. London is rolling along ok. Boris got stuck on a zipline. Michael Phelps eats for breakfast - 3 fried egg sandwiches with cheese, lettuce, fried onions and mayo. A five egg omelette, grits and three sugar coated slices of French toast and three chocolate chip pancakes.
Snowy
What an exciting day! It was wonderful watching the girls win gold in the rowing, closely followed by Wiggo and Froome Am pleased the badminton cheaters were disqualified - that was very poor sportsmanship Big day for us tomorrow - my son and his band have been invited to play in Hyde Park on the BT Vision stage Think I'm more nervous than him! Unfortunately we won't be able to go as I am working but hoping it will be recorded somehow somewhere!
Plum
Been to the Olympics missed seeing Boris stuck on a wire but saw Team GB equestrian team on feet not hooves The event we watched was handball, its a really popular sport in many countries. Korea and Norway was a great game, very fast and skillful. Once I'd worked out what was going on I really enjoyed it. Watch some matches if you get a chance. There was such a loud roar when GB's first gold was announced. I've got to catch up on those yet.
Chucky Mama
We went to see the men's GB team play football in Cardiff last night. A great day out and they played really well. The atmosphere was fantastic but not really very Olympic. Still great fun though
Lavenders_Blue
I'm watching BBC Breakfast at the moment - they have just shown Boris stuck on the zip wire, he seemed to be rather enjoying himself They've also just interviewed a couple of the GB handball players and shown a few clips of the game, it looks really good! Plum
They interviewed the Derbyshire man who 'rescued' him on the radio this morning and I'm afraid it was a publicity stunt
Seagazer
Fantastic news from Lee Valley - Gold and Silver in the C2 final for our GB Team - Florence/Hounslow for Silver and Baillie/Stott for Gold. So pleased for them and for the country. Gold in the shooting too. Shame that GB women have been disqualified in the team sprint.

patsylabrador
It's been such a roller coaster day of sporting emotions. Proper role models, I hope young people will be inspired. Years of hard work and commitment, but not everyone can be a winner. I tend to want to hug all the devastated sportspeople. I also love to see how different body shapes are reflected by sport. I never watch daytime TV so I'm feeling a little weird putting it on all day. I'm feeling exhausted from watching all this sport. I was watching the shooting final when we got gold and missed the white water gold and silver. Feeling proud of Britain today.
patsylabrador
Just seen the last British archer go out. That's a real shame but I was enjoying watching them in it. Athletics starts today. Heptathlon and all that. I've got some weird connection to the judo silver medallist apparently. Nice.
C&T
Some fantastic rowing medals again today, plus an amazing hurdle run by Jess in the Heptathlon! Feeling so exhausted watching non-stop sport, I've just had to get myself a bowl of icecream to get back my energy!! No work next week - I intend to spend as much time as possible in front of the box...
Daphne
I know what you mean....I've just watched the men's 4 x 100 IM with an unbelievable swim by Team GB and the next minute there she is again flinging herself over a high bar The roar and applause in the athletics stadium has to be heard to be believed; all those lucky people with tickets must be having the time of their lives
The Dogmother
I've seen next to nothing of it as I've had a very busy week, but Rosie has been keeping me up to date... week off next week so I hope to be able to watch a wee bit of it.
