surf_space
Hi all, I just thought i'd share some photos of my chicks and their new eglu. So... I went and got myself a second hand eglu. It now houses my 7 week old Bantam chicks and they love it! (although not too keen on going to bed yet- I can't seem to get them to go inside!) The eglu is such a great design and my chicks sure do seem to enjoy their new home! (Sorry for the large images- still trying to get to grips with photobucket!) stu
Speaking as a staunch Newcastle United fan... that black and white one would go perfectly with mu black and white dog, black and white cat, and black and white jersey. They're all nice though.

gongladosh
they look great. You could try putting a torch in the eglu to get them to go in as it goes dark and take it out when you've locked them in - I've tried this before!

surf_space
Thanks all for the lovely messages! You could try putting a torch in the eglu to get them to go in as it goes dark and take it out when you've locked them in - I've tried this before! Thanks gongladosh I never thought of this. When it was getting late I just popped them in through the egg port! Your idea would have probably have been easier! ...But luckily, tonight they decided to put themselves to bed!! Chortle Chook
I've got it on good authority that these lovely girlies are all Japanese bantams. Aren't they pretty?!

TAJ
Are they going to bed yet? The torch in the eglu is my normal trick - If that fails I get a scary broom in the run (slowly) and they move away from it and eventual as I slowly move it further in they go into the eglu to get away from it, then hubby is ready to close the door. Tracy Yes, luckily they quickly learned that it was warmer in the eglu than huddling together outside! I didn't get chance to try the torch but next time if I have problems I will try it
