The Price of Clothes

Recommended Posts

I try never to buy clothes at full price, and generally buy samples/second hand/from sales, but the reductions that shops do really aren't as good as they used to be and the initial prices of goods are often really expensive, but the quality has decreased-this is particularly true with M&S, where things often seem to shrink just as they get out of the guaranteed period-and in my experience they are very snotty about returns...

I've seen someone in Aber in a navy quilted equestrian style jacket with swallows on. I really loved it. I wanted to ask her where she'd had it from, but flippin' heck did she walk fast. She was like lightening speed & I lost her!

I wonder where she got it from?

Sainsburys are very good for clothes. We don't have one round here. Well not one that sells clothes.

My sister always looks nice in her clothes. The majority are from Sainsburys. She had a lovely black quilted jacket on last time I saw her.

Thanks Cinnamon, I'm off to have a good nose at that! 8) I got a nice red scarf from Next a while back with navy rabbits on - perhaps the two would go nice together.

I'm on the lookout for a nice ski jacket for winter. I had a nice turquoise & white one, but it got worn so much that I finally had to let it go. I'd like a nice raspberry coloured one.

:lol: I can just imagine your practically running after this swallow person.

I too have a sister who looks permanently trendy, cool and fab on a shoe string. She gets all her clothes from market stalls. Being a tiny being she finds all sorts of excellent rejects and I get so  Everytime I go and visit her I spend ages raking through my wardrobe desperately trying to find something 8) and, frankly, failing. :eh:

I haven't the time, money or inclination for clothes shopping either.

Once a year (or less) I will go to a personal shopper in a large department store. It's a free service and there is no obligation to buy. This refreshes my worn out clothes and brings me a bit up to date. Apart from that I'll mooch around a charity shop and buy bits and bobs as I see them. I do make the occasional foray to track something down when I have to.

I really like going to the personal shopper, it takes a lot of the stress out of clothes shopping.

I'm not keen on shopping- never see anything I like when I can afford to buy it

Funds are tight this year, so I've been 'recycling' some of my clothes. I've unpicked a few things and re-made them... made a couple of tunics out of dresses that I'll never wear again and re-vamped a couple of tops.

There a a few things I could dye too to give them a new lease of life.

Hey presto! New-ish wardrobe! :D

I love a good rummage in a charity shop though, have found some lovely pre loved things!

I have been ebaying loads of my old wardrobe from when I worked in London.... Karen Millen and that sort of thing from whenI was young, single and had money to spare  I am going to remodel a couple of skirts, which I like but don't wear because the style isn't my cup of tea any more.

I seem to live in either dog walking stuff or work clothes with very little in between
