Egluntyne
Get one! I love mine and find it excellent for reading in the dark. (you have to turn the brightness down a bit).

Seagazer
I must say I'm quite tempted to get the OH one for Christmas, he doesn't read much so hadn't thought about buying him a 'normal' Kindle but as this is a bit different he might like it and it might encourage him to read. Is it any good?
craftyhunnypie
I already have a normal kindle, how would a kindle fire benefit me? Have seen the ads & this offer - they look good. Emma.x
Cinnamon
For me,its the colour, the lit screen & the other capabilities it has. But then again I am a real techy & just love getting a new bit of kit
Cinnamon
UPDATE: I have cancelled it,as I found it for the same price on the John Lewis site,so am ordering it from there, which is more beneficial to me,price wise. They must be matching the black Friday offer I guess.
craftyhunnypie
SO you can read books in the dark & go on the tinternet..anything else? Just trying to see if I really need one, or whether to spend the money on something else. It's just that I have a normal kindle & a reading lamp & have a netbook & android phone for on the go. So I wouldn't really need one??? Emma.x
Seagazer
Can someone who has one or has tried one tell me what its like for reading? Its a different screen/set up to the normal kindle so do you get glare on it? I'm still pondering.....
Cinnamon
I tried one out a couple of weeks ago & while there was, some glare,it is nowhere near like the glare on an iPad. I have an Android smartphone too,so dithered about my need for a Fire, but I love my Kindle,& miss having colour book covers. Also I don't have a netbook, just a desk top computer. Plus I just want one! You can watch movies on it too, but using it as an ereader is shat I will mainly use it for. I got it for £85 in the end, with 2 years guarantee. Would have been rude not to! Ain't Nobody Here
I'm swithering over a Nook for OH (which I will obviously use ). I don't want bells and whistles, just something to read e-books on. The Nook seems to get better reviews than the Kindle if you just want a basic reader. Does anyone have one? I'm waiting till after Christmas (it's for his birthday in Feb) to see if they come down in price!
redbug
Cinnamon was that from John Lewis?
Seagazer
I think I'll order one, OH is a bit of a gadget freak. He's a bit picky though, he borrowed an ipad and decided he didn't particularly like it. I think the fact that its smaller, will have books and colour might appeal to him - and if it doesn't then I can use it. Win win situation!! Cinnamon
Cinnamon was that from John Lewis? Yes, but remember I get partner discount.
redbug
Arr...brilliant bargain especially with insurance. I can understand why it would have been rude not have got the kindle lol
Plum
Have you seen the Kindle fire HD though. You can use it to browse web, watch videos, as well as read books and it has a lot more memory costs a bit more though but nothing like an ipad.
