Pictures of my new kitten Merlin

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would show you all some pictures of my new baby, Merlin is a black tipped british shorthaired kitten. After losing Ripple we said never again but one evening we both ended up looking at pictures on the internet and despite all our reasons for not having another one we drove four hours each way to pick him up last week. He is an absolute sweetheart and we are all besotted with him. The dogs have been great too, Lulu the dachs is just happy to have another face to lick!

That post has made me squeal all the way through - isn't he gorgeous! So, so envious

We have kept British Shorthairs for the last 20 years and they are the most wonderful little creatures. Always full of mischief and so intelligent. We had one that would steal jewellery and hide it under the mat! At the other end, he had a collection of knitting needles :lol:

Thanks everyone, just looking at him makes me smile.

Gertie, yes he is shorthaired although the hairs with the black tips are longer, I think it fills out as he gets older.

Libby22, they are gorgeous aren't they and such characters, Ripple was cream and very laid back about everything, at the moment Merlin wants to investigate everything. It's like having a new baby making sure there is nothing he can hurt himself on. Do you have one now?

I don't think I've ever seen a black tipped fur before. I'll look it up. My Mogu is a BSH cross and mischief is definitely the word to describe her. She is so curious and intelligent. I love her temperament. My other 2 cas are moggies, soft and loving, but you can tell Mogu has got plans and schemes running through her mind!!

Hi mollyripkim, we do have one lovely boy left now. We originally had Bear - a British Blue, Teddy, a Lilac Point Cream and Copper who was the most magnificent Cream. Loved them all to bits and still miss them. Teddy was especially gentle and would adopt kittens in the neighbourhood and bring them home to us. Caused all sorts of problems, to the point that next door's cat moved in and stayed for good. :eh:

We now have Nibbs who is a huge Silver Spot British Shorthair. He is just lovely and very gentle. People do pull back when they see his size, but once he is stroked he will sit up and beg and give you a high 5 to stroke him again. Also, we hold a little bell up for him and he rings it in exchange for more fuss  He also loves to be vacuumed with the small brush attachment to keep his coat in shape. You never get any housework done as he follows the vacuum around

He has quite a few party tricks even though he is 14
