Increased cost of layers pellets

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm frustrated.

We are using Fancy Feeds at the moment, which is now almost £10 a sack. I changed to Marriages but they are scoffing sooooo much of that, much more than FF, and today that was almost £10 too!!!!

What's a girl to do???

sadly it the price is link to the commodity market price of wheat and soya both of which have gone through the roof just lately. it doesn't help that the girls have been eating more this last month or so to keep warm mind that said my mob have eaten a bit less this week I've got an extra 2 days out of this weeks bag I'm feeding Matador £10.50 a bag and well pleased with the quality of the eggs plus my mob look a lot smarter too

I havent really noticed.

In saying that, once my pet food bill passed my human food bill by some measure I stuck my fingers in my ears and started singing 'la la la la'

When it snowed last month we hit an all time high of £90 a week :shh:

Oh Redwing that does make me laugh!! How many animals and chickens do you have?

I think my last bag of pellets cost around £12, which is an increase of nearly 25% from four years ago - as said above, it's linked to the cost of cereals. However if this is a better summer, as we hope, and cereal prices fall, I bet the price of pellets won't go down!

It always makes me laugh when I hear the phrase 'chicken feed' meaning something insignificant. If they only knew ...

I feed Heygates and it is (I think) £7.30 a bag. So not too bad at all by the sounds of it!

Was just about to say the same thing!!!! Two of my local suppliers also sell Heygates Layers Pellets and at both shops it costs less than £7.50 a bag. I'm in North Lincs so the lower price for Heygates must be a "national" RRP. My girls always gobble it all up, so I'm not complaining!
