surfer_chicken
Just heard there was a third explosion at the JFK library. Terrible And two more that luckily didn't go off My thoughts are with everyone affected over in USA.
patsylabrador
Utterly sickening. Terrorist bombers are beneath contempt but whenever and wherever this happens you see scores of people running to help and they are very heroic and people with substance. I accidentally saw a horrible picture on Twitter which will always be with me and I'm glad because I'll always know that any cause terrorists think they have, it will never justify doing that to anyone. Cinnamon
This has been on Facebook today. Says it all I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, “Well, I’ve had it with humanity." But I was wrong. I don’t know what’s going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths. But here’s what I DO know. If it’s one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we’re lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they’re pointed towards darkness. But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago. So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, “The good outnumber you, and we always will.”
The Dogmother
Quoting Gandalf: “Saruman believes that it is only great power that can hold evil in check. That is not what I have found. I have found that it is the small things, every day deeds from ordinary folk, that keeps the darkness at bay. Simple acts of kindness and love." Just keep up those acts of kindness, no matter how small and, in your own way, you will be helping to counteract those atrocities. I don't think we can ever stop them though, just prove how wrong they are.
chickencam
So true, we will never let the minority of bad beat the majority of good.
The Dogmother
The thing is that these evil actions can make you feel so helpless; but we need to fight back, slowly, peacefully and relentlessly, we can make the change. (at the risk of 'quote fatigue') As Gandhi said "We must be the change we wish to see in the world".

Ain't Nobody Here
The BBC says the investigators have a suspect as a result of CCTV footage. Let's hope they can get to the bottom of it.

The Dogmother
I'd be surprised if they hadn't found some clues on the CCTV. What's the betting that the perps have long gone though? They'll be somewhere without an extradition treaty.

Cinnamon
Good I am appalled by some of the graphic photos of the injured going around on Facebook. Even though they show the compassion of strangers, I do feel that they are just the most horrific thing to post.
