lizinsa
A friend is having a woodland wedding at the weekend and instead of wedding presents have asked guests to contribute food and drink. My friend and her family are veggie so want to make something tasty for the day and wondered if you had any bright ideas? She has already asked if I'd make cheese and pickled onion hedgehogs but I'd like to make something more substantial!
Patricia W
What about that lentil curry that they all raved about at Redwing's BBQ? You'll find it if you scroll down.
Lavenders_Blue
Are they after buffet type food I take it? How about some lovely home made dips, such as humous and baba ganoush with pitta chips and veg sticks (or crudités if you want to sound posh ). Have you enough eggs to make quiches or tarts with yummy fillings? Could you do a nice cheeseboard with a range of cheeses, chutneys and posh crackers or fancy breads? Ooh this is making me hungry I am extremely envious, I wanted both a veggie wedding and a buffet but was not allowed on the grounds that I was the only veggie there and my parents didn't want people to go home hungry (??????). So much for it being the bride's day! Your friend's wedding sounds lovely.
CheekyPekins
I made spinach and feta triangles for my friend's veggie party and they went down a storm! I can't find the exact recipe I used (I tend to "adapt" recipes anyway) but they were very similar to this - http://chefinyou.com/2009/11/spanakopita-recipe/ And this recipe always goes down well - goats' cheese and potato tart - and you can make ahead and freeze it, which is handy http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1750/goats-cheese-potato-and-onion-tart
