superkitty
Hello all, I'm back after a pretty long absence ...we've been doing exciting things like moving house. Still have my three girls and the two kitties (who are LOVING their new very big garden...not sure the local bunnies are enjoying it quite as much...or me, for that matter, forever picking up bunny ears and parts off the back doormat ). We also have a new addition, who has been with us since she was 8 weeks old. She's now 8 months old and 22kg Merry the labradoodle says hi hope the photo link works Pre haircut by Faith Al-Egaily, on Flickr Edited October 4, 2013 by Guest

superkitty
Aww, thanks I love her to bits, but I am your classic besotted first-time dog owner so I'm definitely biased
Purplemaniacs
but I am your classic besotted first-time dog owner There is nothing wrong with that Enjoy her, I love my two dogs too, would be so lost without them. Chrissie
superkitty
She has definitely become my buddy, I had no idea how rewarding it'd be teaching her and getting to know her. My first dog at the ripe old age of 40 . She's very bright, but can be (ahem) a bit exuberant when meeting new people. If I could just get a handle on that I would be even happier..she's so big, it's not entirely appropriate for her to be pogoing at head height when people come to the door We'll keep on trucking Merry avec fleurs by Faith Al-Egaily, on Flickr
bluekarin
I think 40 is am excellent age to have your first dog. I was 41 when I got my first ever dog last year Wouldn't be without her now, even when she does naughty things, she gives me her puppy dog eyes and nearly all is forgiven
superkitty
yes. Merry has figured out that the effect of said puppy dog eyes is doubled if she lays her head gently on my leg/arm/nearest body part and does it Glad it's not just me who started dog ownership later on in life!
