The Dogmother
Both work?! If I go out a lot in the week, the house collapses. No cooked meals, mess everwhere, no food in the cupboard, no clothes to wear! Pressure indeed. Perhaps the older ones do a lot. I know execatly what you mean Ginette, some women seem to sail serenly through it all - I used to end up getting in to work late with leaky boobs and baby sick down my jacket! ali-s
YIPEEEE! Presents wrapped, labelled and hidden away. Couldn't find Jack and Natalies Christmas stockings so I decorated 2 wine gift bags with Chrismassy stickers and bows. They look pretty good so will do if the stockings don't turn up between now and Saturday night. Going to deliver cards round the Village now and then just the food shopping to do tomorrow or Friday. The Dogmother
You little sunbeam you! I haven't done the food shopping yet as I haven't heard about the cooker, so don't know whether we will be at home or my folks for Christmas day. There is a rumour that we will get off at lunchtime on Friday, so I will do it then, along with the last of the wrapping. It will all be done in time

Mel (& Paul)
that's why I stick with Waitrose. They have never got it wrong (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont let this be the first time) and have never substituted stuff. I know it costs more but the Tescos and Sainsburys near us have really poor quality food (especially fruit and veg) and as I am working right up to Christmas this year I wont be able to get out to the greengrocer like normal I have a friend who ordered bread flour and ended up with self-raising flour from Tescos. And on the radio someone was saying they had ordered a kettle and they had substitued a toaster
buffie
Yes I may try waitrose delivery next year but I suppose I am lucky in that I work for myself from home so I do get the time. Still find I fill it with too much though BBx
Cate in NZ
I ordered from Ocado once, and only once, but all my meat and veg were right up to sell-by date, and I got supplied with the fattiest pork chops you've ever seen. I also got 9 toilet rolls that I never actually ordered. Despite the free toilet rolls I decided against shopping online again- too much at the mercy of the packers. If I'm ever unlucky enough to break both legs simultaneously I might give them another go- until then I'll choose my own stuff.
buffie
Ok Kate I have changed my mind, I'll face the crowds. It not too bad in waitrose anyway. Only had a bit of a wait to get the olive bar filled...Luv em' BBx
Nicola H
I have ordered from Sainsburys online for 2 weeks now and nearly everything I ordered was substituted the delivery man said you seem to have a lot of blue bags that means lots of substitutions......I got smoked salmon instead of salmon fillets, a mango instead of grapes, minced beef instead of steak........the list goes on and on and on.....Needless to say now that I am fully recovered and catering for 10 on Christmas day I will be battling with the crowds to pick my own food........Wish me luck for Friday morning. Cate in NZ
Ooooh, good luck Nicola, and everyone else battling and queuing their way around supermarkets over the next few days. My MIL (bless her cotton socks ) is treating hubby, the children & me to Christmas lunch, dinner .... oh, & Boxing Day breakfast, lunch & dinner in a hotel. Sorry, forgot Christmas Eve dinner, and Christmas Day breakfast. Yep... the whole caboodle, away, in the extremely exotic surroundings of Chatham . No food shopping for me this year, no cooking, cleaning or washing up either. I am SO excited it's not true, even though we will be popping home sporadically for chicken and cat feeding duties. Still, basically a Christmas with my feet up, either that or working out in the hotel gym and pool. Ummm, tough decision there

Guest
I've ordered on-line with Tesco for several years now. On the whole it's not too bad and I generally get most things I order, not too bad use-by dates and good quality produce. (I get veg from a farm box-scheme though) Anything they don't have, I then don't mind popping down to Waitrose for. I can do self-scanning there and I never need much so it isn't onerous at all. Having said that I got my deliveries all at the wrong time this year so that I needed to do a big shop this week. All the Tesco deliveries were booked up, so I had to go to Waitrose instead. With self-scanning that was definitely a better option than all that queueing in Tesco! But it cost a lot!
