I am very excited I have reserved four (and I did say I could always squeeze a couple more if needs be )

blue egg laying barn girls from little hen rescue which has been on hold for a while I have never had ex commercial girls before. I said I was happy to take on any that need that little bit more tlc as I have my and I am at home every day I feel just as I did when I got my first ever girls silly isn't it

Still waiting for a date for the re homing of these girls however I was asked to send a pic of the housing of where the new girls will be living. And had the lady from the charity ring me this evening she is still trying to tie the farmer down to a date But having seen my set up and knowing I had my separate she did ask me if I would be prepared to take on a couple of brown ex batts which need a bit more tlc and need a quieter garden home one of which had been held back on the re homing day as too poorly to re home and a little friend as poorly was very bald shivering and traumatised How could I say no I was nearly in tears at the thought I have never had any ex batts before so I think I will be asking for lots of advice I just have to make arrangements to collect them from there foster mummy fingers crossed I can get them settled before the barn girls arrive as well. I can't wait to meet them

Oh good on you keyhole Kate, a few of the last girls we rehomed were very bald, and so sad looking, they went to the experienced forever homes but I am sure with your TLC they will thrive. Although they look tragic, they are the lucky girls, you will give them the chance of a happy retirement that many of there sisters didn't get:(

Aww bless them. Good on you for taking them on. My exbats are still going from strength to strength. They are great layers and are very cheeky. One of them thinks she owns the whole garden, if the other chickens are out, she shapes up to them all
