Angie
My very lovely and talented 12 yr old granddaughter . Is quite the calm and laid back gymnast I have ever seen. She is very professional doing her thing at every competition she goes to . The thing is this is her first International competition and although she is her usual laid back excited self, I am the absolute nervous wreck My DD is just excited to be going to Switzerland with her . She sets off in the morning at 4am for Switzerland , along with her other 9 team mates...all girls . And a few mums and her coaches of course. I haven't slept very well at all this week . I have had to put the comp timings away as they make me feel sick. She has sent me the link for the live feed and I have promised to pay the few pounds fee and watch, But I think it would make me worse and I would rather wait for a text with the results....I think so long as she is calm , I will carry All the nerves for her.....Isn't it ridiculous ? We are a seasoned gym family now ( 3 yrs of local , county and national comps.) and I am just passed myself. Her days are Friday and Saturday around 1 pm and 2.45pm. I may have to just go out and not think about it . I swear I have got more grey hair this week.
Lavenders_Blue
Goodness, how exciting! And how wonderful that your grand daughter is being so laid back about it all - I bet she'll perform better as a result In the meantime, you should get yourself a nice hot cup of tea, some Rescue Remedy to settle your nerves and watch the live feed. Go on!
Ain't Nobody Here
How fantastic, she must be really talented . I think you should look at it that it's very lucky that you have all the nerves and she has none, as that way she's much more likely to do well . It will be stomach-churning for you but thankfully you don't have to perform in front of millions . Best of luck to her .
Angie
LB ..Rescue remedy ....Why didn't I think of that...I'll go get some. I finally fell asleep this morning at 5am After I drove them to the gym to see them off . I got up at 11am .Silly isn't it ?
Bramble
My nephew (13) is in a similar position with Judo ... he tends to get a bit wound up immediately before his competitions, but once he's there he really gets into it and nothing much seems to phase him. As for the rest of us though, well, that's quite another matter!!! Good luck to granddaughter ... the main thing is for her to enjoy it! Ain't Nobody Here
That's fantastic, clever girl (and clever GM, managing to get through it all in one piece ).
