Oh what a night..............

Recommended Posts

Woken at 4am with a right kerfuffle outside. I thought it might be our tom cat who was naughty and didnt come when called so rushed to window to see 2 foxes fighting in main road. OH rushed downstairs - well as much as a man half asleep can rush and opened front door to call cat ( our neighbours must love us). I then thought "eek chickens" and rushed into back garden in my PJ's (a wonderful sight) and chucks were ok and house intact. A ginger streak rushed past me - at this point I realised our young big kitten was out too. I found said animal under my OH;s fig and baring in mind our outside light doesnt work -picked him up and thrust him at OH. At one point I did wonder if I had picked up a small fox as Basil has a wonderful tail which when hes agitated could pass for a foxs tail. All cats tucked away safely - Basil refuses to come out from under coffee table  . I can do without this drama. A passing drunk is much more preferable I think.

:shameonu: oh what naughty minds - I meant fig tree ( OH is British born Greek and his fig tree gets care and attention which I never get :boohoo: ) I was half asleep when writing this. All kitties ok now. I am not sure my nerves will stand another night of this incessant screeeching by foxes. Its horrendous. I opened window and shouted "sssssssssssssss" at them - their faces said it all " yeah you and whose army lady..."

Why is it foxes always make noise at That time of morning ??

I have had foxes in the garden at plonk o'clock recently, heard the loud thud as one leapt onto the cube, followed by very noisy chooks. ( amazing that cats can jump onto the cube in the night and the girls make no noise at all ) I did dash out in short pj's armed with waving arms and riding crop to shoo fox off the cube and out of the garden. I thought I had woken 2 neighbours up who had also come out into the garden, scantily dressed , but they admitted it was the noise of the fox and chooks that had them come out . They were protecting their supply of fresh eggs....rather sweet I thought. And to bring their cats in. And I'm close to the towns centre !!!! city foxes will eat anything !!! and go into your bins too.

As for a fig tree, sorry only have a plum and pear which both have lots of fruit buds on, also a fab kiwi bush which after 8 years still hasn't produced any fruit, but I love the plant so it stays.

Needless to say we all took ourselves off to bed , and I did notice that Sue had some really nice slippers on , mean to ask her where she got them just now...

Angie your night vision must be good. My OH has a fig tree in a pot. The roots are invasive but yes we get lovely figs and it is a pamopered tree. No sign of foxes or drunks last night. The drunks round here sing - not anything recognisable and I dont think they will be on BGT any time soon.
