Chicken bald back

Tonight I went out to put the chooks to bed and fetch their food in for the night and I found my little black silkie dead under the grub in their run.

 

She was one of three silkies which I hatched in August 2012.

 

That leaves the other two, a black male silkie and a white girl silkie.

 

So sad, she was such a pretty girl, I have a bit of a soft spot for silkies just in case you couldn't tell.

It was a shock you don't expect to put them to bed and to have lost one.

 

I am thinking about what to do now OH has suggested mixing the bantam group with the silkies. That might work I am sure the boy would be fine but not sure if the little silkie girl would be, or would he protect her? Any thoughts?
