I've moved several times and have now brought my very own house and am a proud owner of 5 shiny new chickens. No doubt I'll be putting in a few panic calls for help in the future. Good to be back! I've just brought a nice new ( but made out of recycled stuff) coop from a retired cabinet maker while I save up for my cube/eglu. And built a 5x15ft WIR with view to some freeranging in the summer. I have a Cream Legbar - called Betty after the OHs favourite film Betty Blue (egg). A blue Maran called Big Bertha. A ginger hybrid of some sort called Ginger Rogers. A black speckled Pekin called Greta and a little lavender speckled Pekin called Dulcie (after a friend of ours who isn't very tall!). To date I think we've had eggs off of all but the Pekins. A couple of pretty blue ones and a pale pink one every other day ( think this is the ginger hybrid) and a few spotty ones which can only really from the Maran. Absolutely love not having kitchen s"Ooops, word censored!"s any more and a reason to do the washing up - an excuse to look out of the kitchen window. Great to be back again.
