Couperwife
How totally gorgeous, and what poseurs. I like cats that pose for the camera, mine does that, but she goes for the artistic "i'm not looking at the camera, I'm just totally gorgeous anyway" look
Ziggy
They are so beautiful!!! My two adult cats keep losing their collars too, I now buy them in bulk whenever I'm at the pet store and keep three or four at hand... Our neighbour very kindly brings them back to me if he finds them in his garden... It's lovely to share my name with such a gorgeous cat
Trish
What gorgeous kitties, congratualtions. We have never had collars for ours as we back onto railway lines with a very broad verge of bramble and trees so they wuld constantly lose them the vet said, or worse get caught buy them. Imagine our surprise when one cat came in wearing a collar with a bell on it!!! A well meaning neighbour thought she might be stray, she is very slight and loves exploring. So she popped a collar on to see if it stayed on, never thought to take her to a vet and check for a chip, ah well. We found all this out when I was driving down our street and thought "Funny that cat in the neighbours window looks just like out Roxy" Imagine knocking on her door and saying "please can I have my cat back"
Louise
Used to happen to me all the time Trish one of mine was a demon for going into other peoples houses and he had at least 3 other homes They never fed him and knew he was mine and Larma used to bring him up at about 10pm and post him through my cat flap He was such a sweetheart "Ooops, word censored!"ody could bear to chase him out One of his homes was with a deaf woman and she usually had her door open most of the time and he was always giving her a fright when he appeared
The Dogmother
I've got burglar cats at the moment too Fat Leo lives a few doors down, he has now broken 3 of my magnetic cat flaps, which were installed to keep him and others out. I have spoken to his owners and I refuse to replace this last one because they cost so much. Consequently, he is always breaking in and stealing the cats food. I spray him each time I see him in the house, but he never seems to mind I have told them that next time I catch him, he will be firmly booted out! Mango decided to come into our house a few weeks ago; he's a lovely ginger cat, but he doesn't live here! I attached a note to his collar asking if he had a home (he had an abcess that needed treatment) and his owner called me back- they'd been away and a neighbour had been loking after him... they acused me of feeding him and I had to point out that he was breaking in and helping himself to the food. I will have to get another magnetic flap! *sighs*
Cinnamon
Clare, I don't know if yours are Staywell cat flaps, but if they are you can buy spares & repair kits on their website. We have a stash of bits that Millie (the dog) keeps knocking off with her great big head, trying to squeeze it through the cat flap
The Dogmother
They are! That's briliant Sarah... thanks I can't work out what's wrong with it, and I asked Phil to have a look when he was down at my place yesterday, but he forgot... he loves tinkering and fixing things and is so much more patient than me. Off to have a look at their site.....
