De cluttering in 2015

Recommended Posts

I thought that I would start a new 2015 thread for this. I have been sorting and spring cleaning for the past couple of weeks and can already see the difference. I am trying to tackle a couple of glory holes each week on my day off. Today's project is the drawers in the dresser in the lounge that are full of allsorts. If I am feeling really brave I will tackle the airing cupboard too.

Last week I did my filing cabinet where I keep all the bank statements and other household papers and we did part of the kitchen over the weekend. With the older two children at uni now we have managed to get them to sort out a lot of their childhood stuff and reduce the amount in their rooms. There is still a lot there though and ED graduates in a few months, if she doesn't immediately get a job both she and her many belongings with be heading back this way

Well done Chickencam.

I must do some de cluttering, we have lived here for 11 years now and have filled the house, Some is DS's who no longer lives at home and a lot is stuff for the grandhcildren as they spend a lot of time here. But there are cupboards full of stuff just in case :D and also lots of books and papers from my studying and as I hope to complete my OU degree this year hopefully a lot of that can go soon.

I think I need some inspiration.

Sorted out my airing cupboard this week. It is frightening how much bed linen and how many towels a family of five can amass

I put 4 large bin bags full into a fabric recycling bank and I still only have one empty shelve that now actually functions for airing clothes

We also sorted YD's room this summer, that was a task and a half, she is a natural hoarder and has inherited loads of stuff from two older siblings. We threw away loads, recycled even more and donated the rest to charity.

The garage is tomorrow's project, wish me luck :anxious:
