Chickabee
My pet lab Max, just tried to eat his way through a stash of eggs he found in the garden. Don't know how many he ate, but I threw away about 8. Got to do my private detective impression tomorrow to find out
Luvachicken
Sneaky hens hiding them away so your dog would find them I could do with losing a few, I'm running out of space to keep them.

Chickabee
Ive got 9 regular layers now. The others either don't lay, anymore, lay when they feel like it (fifi) or are too young. Very happy for you luvachicken
PixieDust
Luvachicken that's sorta good news! At least you have loads now. Even with 3 girls I find one minute we have 24 eggs then we are low again lol.
Valkyrie
I made brownies the other day because our little stash is building up nicely. Proudly announced I'd used 2 eggs, hubby went YAYYYY! Then I went down the garden and found 3 in the nest box! So all the girls are now producing that are likely to produce - the little 7 year old pekin is excused and if she does lay then I'll be very grateful (I find those the most yummy and creamy), while the feisty mare I think will not unless they are softies, which she did at first last year and then the later ones had very brittle shells. So I figure she may not live till next year. Not sure about the pekin, there is nothing that points to her demise apart from age. Yeah, one minute, nada and the next drowing in them! Luvachicken
Yeah, one minute, nada and the next drowing in them! I do love all my eggs very much, it's just my kitchen isn't huge and my eggy bunk bed is full. Perhaps we should all freeze some ?
Valkyrie
I seem to remember we did that last year - oh dear, forgot about them!!! I wonder if they are still good to eat?!!!

Chickabee
I staked out the nesting place today. Was in and out, looking through the window. She must have laid late because Max managed to eat her egg again
Beantree
One of our neighbour's chickens went missing for days and then returned broody. Kept coming back and disappearing again and was eventually found in a barn. She had made a nest inside a big reel of electrical cable and was sitting on 23 eggs!
