Cat tails
Not here yet! You must have gotten your hopes up! But will be here soon! Ginger and Nutmeg are going to boarding soon, because of a work trip and asked the petting zoo about some new chicks (a term they use loosely to indicate chicken till 1 year, so will see how big they are.) Hoping for one nice girl, but secretly already promised myself 2... Might be a good cure for Gingers broody spell. Being stuck into a coop with two strangers! The Dogmother
Sounds like fun Have you got any isolation/introduction housing?
Cat tails
Boarding place is doing the introduction. Or well, stuffing four chickens on unknown territory. When I bring them, I'll pick out the two new girls and he will put them in a boarding coop and keep an eye on them. Will pick them up in a weeks time and hope they settled down a bit. If not, it won't be long till I go on holiday so they will be back at boarding boot camp.
Cat tails
Tadaaa! Chickens became chicken, but still happy with the new little hen! And little she is! Tiny little thing, but very cute. She came out of a coop with some other hens (silky, poland and a little bantam cockerel) and we put the three together in a new coop. Some serious ignoring ensued! The Dogmother
Awww, what a sweetie Can't really see in the photo, but could she be a Dutch bantam?
Cat tails
You are on the money DM! She is Dutch bantam or a Dutch bantam cross. Knew they were small, but compaired to my two she is still tiny!
The Dogmother
Ahh, they are lovely, but not the strongest of birds... I once had a little lemon porcelain one. Rosie was quite young at the time, and would carry her around under her arm.
Cat tails
They have sooo many birds at my boarding place. They have a run full of silkies plus some kind of pheasant. Very pretty! And loads of turkeys running around.
mullethunter
Your Dutch bantam is lovely What's her name?
Cat tails
Name! Yes... Well... Still pondering about that. I was thinking about Carbon (because she is black), but not sure it will fit her. Maybe I have to wait until I actually have her in de garden.

Cat tails
Jet is actually a Dutch female name... Might be nice one too... You pronounce it as Yet.
Luvachicken
Just a little point of interest - Jet is a fab song from Paul McCartney and Wings and Ebony and Ivory is another Paul McCartney hit with Stevie Wonder
mullethunter
Jet is a good song. Also there was a girl on Gladiators called jet - she had a mullet if I recall

Cat tails
And lovely she is! I picked all four chickens up today! Yes four! So I have a surprise hen! Another pretty little Dutch Bantam, but all black. Chucked them all in the run and so far so good. A bit of pecking to keep the little ones away and I probably have to move one feeder. But so far the little ones have settled down incredibly well! Not letting them out of the run yet. Maybe tomorrow after they had a night in the coop.
