soapdragon
Thanks Cat Tails.... Lewis, this was an image from our recent trip to Prague. On all the old railings around the 'Old Town' (esp over the Charles Bridge) there were padlocks of varying descriptions. Not quite sure why they were there but I think it was something to do with either partnership (as many were inscribed with two names) or the idea that, if you put a padlock on the railings, you would return to Prague! Lewis
It's really obvious now I know what it is but was puzzled before
soapdragon
It's really obvious now I know what it is but was puzzled before If you go to Prague (and I really recommend our hotel if you do!) you'll see these padlocks are everywhere - must be a real pain for 'the authorities'! Not sure if this is done anywhere else?
Lewis
I've seen it in Paris (one particular bridge) and Budapest (on lots of bridges, though not encouraged). They tried to start it in Birmingham a couple years back but the council put a stop to it pretty quickly
