Ursula123
That's lovely Plum. I may have a go at something like this one day.
Luvachicken
I made the little pekin in applique as well and am happy to share the pattern. It's my pattern so copyright free. This one was done using bondaweb, I've added a border and gallery wrapped it onto a canvas frame so it's easy to hang. Loving that very much - she looks a bit like my Tilly. Very, very clever
Valkyrie
She's a little beauty. I rather like those batiks too! Still haven't got round to the piecing yet. However Mim's quilt is now ready for quilting. And it's been reasonable outside so been gardening - no touchee fabric with soil engrained fingers (however much you scrub - some is rather persistent) - and that's wearing gloves!!! I've not finished my applique robin either. He's still beakless and blind, poor thing. A few more holly berries to do too. But my Ladies of the Sea patterns have arrived. OH is already oohing and ahhing over the flowery border! While Mim and I ooh and ahh over the ships! Something odd about us girls! In more ways than one! Valkyrie
I have finally traced the pattern last night! Then got sidetracked making little morning stars for the neonatal quilts. Today is the day I get to piece the chicken!!!

Olly
Love that appliqué chicken, and the rose. I printed off the pattern for the paper piecing and was really keen to have a go but life got in the way. It's still on my desk - I will find a moment eventually. Valkyrie
Pretty rose too. I still have to do my wattles and daubs and then sandwich and quilt, bind and it's done. But at the moment DD's quilt is taking priority (with strippy s"Ooops, word censored!" practices on the treadle) - I've completed all but the cornerstones now. I've been doodling to come up with something. She has pet rats so I thought maybe I'd do 2 ratty shapes, then on a third will do a dove of peace because that was her first tattoo. Then the bottom cornerstone probably a chicken.
Plum
rats on a quilt!
Blackrocksrock
Rats anywhere - the stuff of nightmares especially on my bed quilt!! - I am sure the pet ones are lovely really!!!
Valkyrie
They really are lovely little rats. One doesn't have guard hairs so is all soft and fluffy, almost curly. Both have Dumbo ears (it's the variety where the ears stick out at the sides and are soooo cute). The fluffbod is a mummy's girl - she runs across for cuddles. The other one is doing her best to impersonate a piebald shire horse, well the girth of a piebald shire horse. I think most people don't like the tails. They are half naked squirrels really. But overruled by OH - doves are now in all 4 corners. But there is a quilt applique pattern on Craftsy with rats! I'm going to have to do that one! Plus a kazillion other quilts that means I must live to be at least 200 years old to complete them all!
Blackrocksrock
Cannot wait to see your quilt. Went to do the chicken trace the template and no tracing paper! Just brown parchment which is no use!
Plum
what about greaseproof paper in the kitchen or use some printer paper if you stick it to the window you see through
