bronze
For their new style glug. I'm getting a bit (how can I put this politely) .....annoyed as when I asked probably over 6 weeks ago now I was told it'll be in the next couple of weeks. People are getting them with their new cubes yet I havent got mine for the cube that was ordered in april. At the moment I have to go out and fill up their water bottle twice a day. I just can't afford to buy anything else and the oldstyle glugs are useless with my lot. Anyway whinge over.... was really just wondering who else was waiting. Gallina have you got yours? Have they even started catching up?
feemcg
I've not got mine, had forgotten about it actually - think I'll give them a phone just now, will let you know what they say.
feemcg
Spoke to James - he said we haven't been forgotten about, they're building up a stock of the new glugs at the moment and are going to start sending them out in a couple of weeks. That would tie in nicely for me with the chicks going out to their run. I was going to try them with it. Hope it comes.

Richard
If these are the ones that have sort of valves at the bottom for the chickens to get water out of, to be honest I wouldn't bother. One came with my Cube but the hens won't use it - they like the motley collection of drinkers, dog bowls and puddles that litter the run/garden. The Glug is pristine and totally unused. I'm not bothering with it - I'm thinking of planting something in it that the hens can graze on.
sparkleeeeee
richard you should stick it on e-bay, i bet you would get quite a bit for it as they are rare. then you could buy your chooks something nice
Gallina
I'm still waiting, but I've stopped whingeing since reading about all the problems people are having with the new Glug. It doesn't seem worth getting excited about.
BeckyBoo
I'm the same as Gallina, in fact I think I'd rather have another ordinary glug as mine get on with that fine I could just do with two! The only eason I'm remotely a little bit miffed is because I should have one and I haven't. Mrs Bertie
feemcg
Well, still no 'nipple' glug - thats 4 weeks since I phoned and was told they'd start sending them out in a couple of weeks . I know some people aren't keen on them anyway, but curiosity is getting the better of me and I'd still like to have one and judge for myself. Guest
I got one with my Cube but I don't think I'll be using it. The original glug contains grit and I have a drinker which the chooks drink from. The weldmesh on my run has gaps which are to small to hang them on so the grub and glug that are in there are on the ground. I might try ebay and see if it's profitable. Trouble is you can't set a reserve less than £50 so I might have to do a naughty and get my mate to bid if I think it isn't going to be worthwhile. The Dogmother
I've got a glug (old style) but to be honest, mine prefer drinking out of the rabbit drinker I put up; at least the water in it stays clean unlike the glug - I'd swear that they wash their feet in it
Sheilaz
I'd like one out of curiosity & was disappointed not to get one with the Cube. The Glug doesn't fit on the hen garden mesh, but I find it very useful on the ground, although in an Omlet run it would be taking up valuable ground space, So, I use that and assorted dishes & a peanut on the ground so they have loads of water, they prob. won't look at the new one (when it arrives ). feemcg
I phoned Omlet yesterday to see if they had a blue recon eglu (for my duckies ) - they didn't, only an orange one if anybody's interested. While I was on I asked why the shop is still showing brown and yellow eglus - she asked how on earth I had seen that as I wasn't the 1st to point it out but she couldn't find it! - I told her it comes up when you search for recon eglu. She said she would have to get that sorted. Anyway, while I was on I asked (again) about the nipple glug and she said "whats your postcode, what colour do you want, I'll send that off today!" - she said they'd already started sending them out and was sorry I'd been missed! - looks like the ball's rolling with this now
Cinnamon
I have actually bought 2 superglugs to use in the hen pens, & they are great. They both arrived a few weeks ago, & unfortunatly the pink one had 2 holes in it,near the bottom, so had to be replaced. Still waiting on the replacement, but it should be here soon The hens all picked up how to use the superglug really quicky, & not getting wood chips in it all the time is a real bonus
Gallina
I am still waiting for my new Glug. I am not desperate for it, especially when I read about all the problems; but I do think Omlet should apologize to everyone for the delay, given that we thought it was going to be a week or so. I have been waiting for almost five months. On the other hand, I am very thankful that I have got a wonderful Cube that works properly and doesn't leak. Jaime
I phoned and got mine 2 days later. I hung it up on Thursday and my chooks ignored it - I've let the old glug run out of water and noticed today they are happily drinking from the new one - it works fine and it doesnt get filled with mud and hemcore!
