Hope that title encouraged a nosey. The forum is very quiet these days and I often think of things people posted and wonder how they are getting on Chickadee are you still doing guide dog training? Also Janty I think of you often and wonder have you had your transplant ? Also  can’t remember name but girl with lots of issues with sons school. Also little baby that was adopted and craft people made lovely blanket. I must lead a boring life and suppose that is nature of forums and people move on.

Hello Grannyshazzie!

Welllll, we survived winter here - loved the snow and the animal prints.  Today in this beautiful April shower weather with gales and wind and hail, the fence fellows are doing a super job of putting a fence around the veggie patch.  Bunny proof because the bunnies are multiplying as only bunnies are able to!  Luckily they have fertilized some of the patch prior to planting. Bunnies - not the fence men!  They also burrowed into our 2 piles of compost that were delivered recently!  Stock proof fencing should we have more animals and keep them out.  I say more animals - hahahahaha - with my husband - hahahahaha!  Spoilsport that he is!

And stock proof fencing.  Basically low jumping sheep can't clear it.  Nor can piggies.  The deer seem to clear it with ease, having watched one bounce over easily.  The second one chickened out at the last moment, hopped and slid over the top in a very unladylike manner before prancing off to join her mate.

Meanwhile the tomatoes and peppers are going great guns indoors - no electricity in the greenhouse so the propagator is in the porch.  I hope I can get to plant my garlic outside now - they are becoming triffids in the greenhouse and need to feel more soil beneath their feet.  Er roots.

We had a super time the other week with lots of walks and it was great to see the butterflies and bees on the wing.  We have a pond full of spawn with giant frogs (well that would be the ladies) that were doing their version of the Olympics with tumble turns.  We also have newts, mostly common but a black one with red behind his head.  I don't think it's a crested one because they have orangey red underneath.  But I'll keep my eye out.  Maybe a glass bowl pressed into the water for better viewing without falling in.

Every time I stop and take everything in it still feels like a dream but then I smile and think we made it and we did the right thing.  The next goal is to sort the kitchen and the outbuilding come garage and then I must sew all my fabric and make a kazillion quilts without buying any more fabric.  Ooooh a flying piglet!

And I've been adopted by one of next door's cats.  He comes bounding over and keeps me company in the greenhouse.  He also walks down to the chickens with me - I don't mind but he winds himself round my legs and trips me up!  When we first came here he was very tempted by the chickens, but now Goldie sees him and investigates with the others doing the Straw Dogs slo mo wander across the field.  Trigger's mane catching in the breeze.  Or maybe he's just tripped over his feet.  He does that a lot, stupid bird!

Husband says I don't need a cat because I have next doors.

Gosh Valkyrie you are very busy. I feel I have been hibernating this winter in comparison. In spite of moving house and decluttering I still have lot of stuff, mainly shoes and clothes that haven’t been and are never likely to be worn. I have discovered the joys of eBay and am flogging off a lot ,which is great. Wish I’d done it years ago, it’s still novel so a bit of fun. I have very little storage in this house so being able to see the wardrobe floor is amazing. OH is afraid to stand still for too long in case he’s listed.

Yes, I wonder about Chickabee.  I adopted her silver laced Polish Bantam who turned out to be a cockerel.  We met on the M40 at Beaconsfield Services in Costa Coffee.  In the box under the table was this beautiful chicken who came to live with us as Phillip 2nd.  He is still with us, aged about 6, but sadly lacking in fertile girls.  He’s with two 10 year old pensioners.  I do wonder if we should find him a new home with a bevy of beauties.

And I remember all the others and more.  If any of you are lurking, please come along and tell us your news.
