debbie
Hello Just wondering, is it ok to give the girls the sprouting seeds that we get from our veggie box ? I tend to throw them away as we aren't keen ourselves. Sould they be given as a treat? Thankyou in advance
bronze
I got some too in my veg box (rivernene?) and had no idea what to do with them. If the answer is yes its ok for them to have them guess whos having that treat.
debbie
Hi Bronze Yup....(Rivernene)..... I think you can put them in stews and salads but I'm not keen. So hopefully the girls might be in luck.

Christian
I'm sure that in this months Practical Poultry magazine, there is a feature on a woman who feeds her hens sprouted seeds (as treats i think). Its the 'carbon neutral' feature if anyone has it. I can't find my copy at the moment. (OH has probably binned it ) C x
Chicken Licken
even the chookie girls turned their noses up at them. In the end they sprouted into small plants out of last winters bark chips....lovely
Tina C
Ooooh I love those sprouted seeds - my girls never get a look-in!
Snowy
Yes I read that Christian, better nutritional value in a sprouted seed than in the seed alone and also extra bulk (she used sprouted quinoa and wheat).
Egluntyne
I read about it too.....a while ago I thought.
