Hellcat
I had pneumonia over christmas and lost 10 lbs. NOT a wiehgt loss plan I would recommend. Sadly (due to excess cakes/choc etc), it has all come back on now. 5 months after the arrival of 5 of 5 I still havent started to do any exercise and this time the tummy is staying! I absolutely must get going with some stomach crunches to tone it up as I would never be able to control my eating. Like the food too much you know... Mel (& Paul)
I'm with you there 2 years ago I managed to lose a stone and get a toned(ish) tum by sit ups etc. Since then I have put the weight on and the wobbly bits are still wobbling - fancy doing the crunches together to see how we get on? red
Hey I've only just discovered this Sticky - how did I miss it?! So I'll bring it back on track ... Step away from the chocolate! Since OH popped the big question on christmas day I have changed my eating habits considerably. I have wanted to do something about my weight for ages but just can't be bothered with dieting and never have. But the old wedding bells (and dress) seemed a good incentive to kick start a change in eating habits (as opposed to a diet). That said I have based the changes on the GI principles because although I did endulge in the odd cake and biccie (and of course chocolate) I never thought I ate that unhealthily. So having read the books I realised that I was eating far too much white rice, pasta and bread. And I NEVER ate breakfast except at weekends. That's all changed now and I eat breakfast every single day now - in fact I can't live without it! I have a much bigger but healthier lunch and a smaller dinner. For the time being I have cut out almost all rice bread and pasta save for the very occassional bit of wholemeal pasta, wild rice or wholemeal bread. And rather than take the lift at work I take the stairs ... all 8 flights (well 16 half flights if I'm being exact! ) At first you think no problemo this is a sinch but you feel the burn by the 5th floor! I haven't deprived myself either and have even had the following - a chinese takeway, a celebration when I drunk a LOT of wine, some cheese, cakes to celebrate various birthdays; the most luxurious piece of chocolate cake (drool) and mussels in a cream sauce And the best bit ... in 8 weeks I've lost 1 and a half stone! Mel (& Paul)
Red that is great news - see if I had half the drive of you (or worked higher than the ground floor) I might just about loose an ounce or two

Hellcat
WAY TO GO RED!!! BFH (big fat hubbie) is doing a similar thing and he is losing it, but not as fast as you! I wish I could but since he has started working away during the week I have lapsed in to the 'bored now, just the one choccy' thing in the evening. YOU GO GIRL (how very Jerry Springer)
Hellcat
Mel, I have one of those ab ex thingies waving at me from the bedroom corner. How about 50 per night every night before bed. Got to be honest the next day though!

YOU GO GIRL (how very Jerry Springer) Oh I am SO WITH you girlfriend. (Jer-ry Jer-ry!) WHY is that "I'm bored now, just one choccy / biscuit / cake / tub of ice cream" is so tempting
red
I've become the resident food consultant at my work - everyone in the office is so impressed they come to me with their lunch and ask me whether it's acceptably healthy. One girl said that she went to but a frozen ready meal and could hear my voice saying "think of the factory - the mass production line treating your food like a product and then you'll digest it!" She put it back!
Hellcat
Not sure but I have just munched through a pear and an apple sliced up while I have been online, and still want more food, but I am not remotely hungry. I will be strong, I will be strong... Oh "Ooops, word censored!", I probably won't, you know!
Mel (& Paul)
But at least it was an apple and a pear - could have been chocolate
