Bye, Bye Hattie Legbar

Recommended Posts

I've been away for a few days and upon my return poor OH has had to break the news to me that Hattie, one of my newbies had died on Wednesday.I'm gutted because as I was away having a lovely break, I feel so awful that she could have just gone .There was absolutely no sign of her being unwell. Poor Steve feels rotten as he knows just how much my girlies mean to me

I'm feeling just so sad.

that's very sad, there's nothing your OH or you could have done if there were no signs- sometimes they just go, like we all have to one day, still very sad though. Take some comfort from the fact she didn't suffer.

What sad and shocking news for you. :(

It might be worth ringing the breeder and just letting them know what happened.

Chickens can get so many illnesses though, that sometimes you dont even know they are ill before they have died. :(

At least she had love and care with you, even if it was a short time.

Sorry to hear about Hattie. As others have said contact the breeder, I lost a chicken just over a month after getting her and my breeder replaced her free of charge as she guarantees her chickens for a month and was even flexible with her month. I didn't really expect it either.
