Does anyone else have 3 eglus or is this a first?

You're right, Ginette! 8) (Although I'm working on the idea  and Esther has just looked at these pics and would love a Pink Eglyu. 2 against one, LSH!

Congratulations, Lesley. 8)

Liz, Rita & Beryl couldn't have gone to a better home, they'll be well looked after. Wishing you all the best , N.Z. sounds a lovely place, you'll have a great adventure. Big hug!

It must have felt really strange this morning Liz, not to have your girls coming to greet you all :(

Lauren and Jake have now been to see them and they fell in love with them - I have taken some photos.

Both girls laid an egg today :D Beryl managed to hop up onto the platform and then over the top of the netting where there is a gap and laid hers in HER pink Eglu

She must have received a peck from one of the others and her comb was bleeding but I treated it with tea tree oil and she was fine and eating sunflower seeds out of my hand. I put more netting across the top and all was fine. Rita laid hers in the Eglu. Two beautiful, dark brown eggs!

It was mighty strange this morning, then later this afternoon, going into the utility area, and my brain taking a few moments to catch up with reality; searching for a sound that wasn't there, most bizarre, good job I am a psychiatric nurse, or I might have begun to worry (more)!

Lesley I am glad the journey caused no ill-effects and they laid today, :D Beryl obviously isn't colour-blind then!

Ellis asked me today whether Lesley, she could come and visit Beryl and Rita and you before we leave for NZ?

Lesley, a silly question :? With 3 eglus & 8 chickens (not that I'm jealous or anything  ), what on earth are you going to do with all those eggs. Do you really, really like cake, omlettes and spaghetti carbonara :?

I'm ust trying to get my head around 6 or so eggs a day, we're currently getting 3 a day, or thereabouts and we have a veritable egg mountain. Got to do something eggy for dinner tonight just get rid of some

Well, yes, I think we're just mad and don't think about the eggs!

My grown up son and his girlfriend and also daughter, SIL and two grandchildren live in the same village and don't need to buy eggs. 8)

Our chicken sitter lives over the road and I leave eggs on her doorstep and we are having Frittata tonight!:lol:

We've only been getting about 4 eggs a week while all the girls are in various stages of moult - I forgot about eggs. They're just such lovely pets.

We will be getting about 50 eggs a week and I have high cholesterol :?

I think we will be letting neighbours pay to rent an egg box containing 6 free eggs

With 2 eglus and 8 chooks (has anyone noticed the second had green eglu for sale.......) we sell some of our eggs to people at work. We dont charge much, but just enough to pay for their layers pellets and corn :D

Liz, I am sending you a big cyber hug - it must have been hard for you -but great to know they have gone to such a great home - and I think the idea of an eglu in NZ would be great - cant wait till we have a get together in that part of the world

Lesley - what flowers do you intend painting on the pink eglu :D

I'd be no good - I'm hopeless at doing things to order and only ever do what I like and when I feel like doing it

I used to make Wedding Cakes and sometimes struggled with what people wanted - especially the one someone wanted for their Valentine's Day Wedding - too tacky, I had to tone it down to 'elegant'

Lesley, I am so looking forward to meeting you. I'm exactly the same - doing things when I feel like it and often only IF I feel like it! That's the beauty of working from home.
