Yes really sad . Hope the lottery winner gives money for research into Whales and how to help them when this happens.

I think they did a magnificent job trying to save the poor whale and it's just so tragic that it ended the way it did but it was probably dying anyway, poor thing. I feel desperately sorry for the rescuers who made such a fantastic effort but looking on the bright side, they've learned so much which they can use if it should happen again.

Really sad. An absolutely fantastic effort to save it. I think everything that could be done, was done. Just so sad that it wasn't enough.

 

For once I agree with Graham. I couldn't read the articles in the newspaper this morning as it upset me too much At least the rescuers tried all they could to help him.

It's really sad about the whale , but at least people tried to help it, and they made it as comfortable as possible.

I can hardly believe my eyes - just read on BBC news that the rescuers are now facing parking fines of £300. Apparently their vehicles had "Marine Ambulance" on the side of them, but the traffic wardens still went ahead and booked them. How cr*p is that?

I can hardly believe my eyes - just read on BBC news that the rescuers are now facing parking fines of £300. Apparently their vehicles had "Marine Ambulance" on the side of them, but the traffic wardens still went ahead and booked them. How cr*p is that?

Tesco seem to use less material, so their pants are a bit clingy in the wrong places. And heck, when you're packing a lot into them, you need a forgiving pant.

Too right, a local traffic warden got in the papers for booking a car that was part of a funeral cortege

 

The bloke concerned is known locally as 'Danno', as in 'Book 'em Danno'

The watering can they used to keep the whale hydrated as they brought him up the Thames is on ebay - bids about £6000. I was really at first, but it seems the rescuers are selling it with the profits going to charity

The money is going to the marine rescue charity that tried to save her it will just about cover the cost at £6000
