Christmas is fast approaching....but what do you buy for the hen who has everything?

 

She already has the ultimate in pent house appartments. After a posting on hen toys, she has the latest dog ball from 'Pets at Home' stuffed with a variety of tasty treats such as spinach, kale and lettuce. She has two run extensions plus another on it's way courtesy of Grandad who is treating her and her friends for Christmas.

 

So, come on fellow hen keepers....suggestions for the ultimate hen presents please.

we bought hot water bottles from Superdrug yesterday

 

They were a fiver each and came with a snazzy cover and hubby put them in the poo tray. It was minus 6 here on Friday and we are getting a lot of colds/sniffles here so we are hoping this will make them warmer/better!

 

What about a nice bag of organic corn as an afternoon treat?

Definately their own mealworm breeding kit so they can enjoy fresh treats all year round!

Same idea, but microwaveable and peck proof.

 

A bit more expensive though.

A perch to put in the run? My Dad has just made a perch for my two out of old stair rail. They love it and spend ages sitting on there.

I agree with the perch idea. I put part of an old shoe rack in mine and they all use it a lot.

Passed a house for sale near us today and YS said "you're so mad about those chickens you'd probably buy a house just for them".

What about a nice garden/chicken sign. I've seen some lovely ones (but yet to buy) country style wooden signs saying "chickens" or "chickens live here".

Still not smelling - I think that may have been a problem when people didn't clean them out and just left them all in the original container.
