Ain't Nobody Here
Me too . I used Crunchies which were lovely in the batch I made for YS going away. This time I crushed them too much and it didn't taste as good . Big bits makes for a much yummier crunch .
Guest
I used the last of my macadamia nuts, walnuts and dried cranberries. I had a load of gold coins left from Christmas so chucked them into the melted chocolate too, good way to get rid of them
Seagazer
YS made this at the weekend but didn't follow the instructions properly and managed to use 3 saucepans. He put marshmallows in and it was delicious - well the tiny bit I was allowed to eat! He's very keen to make another lot adding some different ingredients in. Guest
I'm just about to make yet another dble batch so thought I'd add up the cost... 200g milk chocolate from Aldi 99p (I don't use dble the chocolate, I find 200g is plenty) 400g digestive biscuits from Aldi 32p 200g butter from Aldi approx 70p (a 250g block is 84p) 4 tbsp golden syrup, dunno the cost but not much, say 20p 2 tsp cocoa, again negligable (I only use a small amount of cocoa powder) half a packet of Aldi macadamia nuts and dried cranberries 65p (a packet costs £1.29) so lets see, total is about £2.86-ish? for about 10/12 slices? (we like them thick) so 29p a slice? We paid £1 a slice from the farm shop when we went on egluntine's chicken course and they didn't have nuts in! They are just soooooooooooooooo nice, I can't leave them alone.

Ain't Nobody Here
As I reported earlier in this thread, I made 2 different batches of this for my YS to take away on his 2 week school expedition. It was (unofficially) voted the best home baking .

Maybe I am not making it thick enough I'd say they're about 3 cm wide, about 7 cm long and maybe 1.5 cm think? does these pics help? http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2597614&l=10e3ee5dac&id=568396756 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2597615&l=1e475b6684&id=568396756 maybe I'm compressing the biscuit mixture too much, might try a little less pressure next time

Emma.x I think mine improved overnight in the fridge but i would say if it is REALLY sickly then maybe you overdid the syrup....or maybe i have a really sweet tooth as i am on my third slice this evening!
