Lesley
On our travels today, for Carl's birthday, we decided to call in on Jainie at the farm where we bought most of our layers. We thought we might ask about the new Meadowsweet hybrid. No, we weren't going to buy any - just ask We also wanted to tell Jainie that we had moved to a smallholding........... Jainie is moving - from 40 acres to 8 acres - anything that isn't nailed down is being sold. Within 10 minutes she had tried to sell us Dexter cattle, a pig arc, chicken houses and freezers from the farm shop Luckily, even Dexters don't fit in the back of a Freelander We will need some freezers before the pigs go to the abattoir.............. a couple of Dexters might be nice and keep the grass down.......... Oh! and Jainie gave us the name of the person who will be the local agent for Meadowsweet chickens and she just happened to have the ones I was asking about.......................... The Dogmother
That's interesting Lesley, because last time we went there, they had slaughtered a lot of their livestock and weren't planning to replace them - that explains it! Are you still ok for tomorow? Dexters.... Another book to read

Lesley
Well ........................................................................ we did come home with ..................................................................................... more chickens! Three of the Heritage Skyline and one Bluebelle - they are gorgeous. The new Meadowsweet agent who has taken over from Jainie is called Jude and we found out that they looked at our farm in January as well - but decided it needed to much work - another coincidence. The last couple of days have been full of them!
