One Man Banned
No flashing here either!!! White twinkly LED on both trees. I found a small battery operated string of lights and put them around the big pot pourri bowl There'll be no-one sitting on the control for the lights this year then or additional smoke effects, Lesley A xx
redfrock
our tree isn't going up this year because we are decorating the lounge over christmas and the other rooms are too small to put it in . I miss all the sparkle and glitter. I normally have white lights as I think they shimmer more. I once went and bought flashing lights because I liked the idea but they gave me such a headache I made OH take out the flashy bit that same evening to make them static

We be getting out tree soon, so that we be festooned (sp)? in white lights too! Jingle bells, jingle bells.......... Its nearly Christmas!!!! The Dogmother
i'm starting to feel Christmassy now too Christian. Can't wait to get the tree at the weekend and get the lights up. I have some very tasteful white crystal type ones that go round the front window. I'll take some photos at the weekend.
One Man Banned
I think today is the 12th Day before so the tree has to go up today (despite Joe's protestations!!) I can't wrap presents tonight to give out tomorrow unless the tree is up, it just wouldn't feel right somehow A xx
Treekeeper
I have voted white, but actually I like both. Because we have the new cats and the only white lights we have for the tree are 240v we decided just to use the low voltage coloured ones on the tree we normally have a string of each. I have to say it doesn't look quite right without the white and the cats have left the tree alone so far therefore I think the white will have to go on. There are too may tacky lights outside peoples houses now. Whatever happened to being green. Festive twinkles should be kept indoors BAH Humbug!! Richard
Hurrumph. where's the option for 'no lights at all' the massive waste of energy on visual pollution over Christmas is horrendous. George Bush would be proud of everyone with Xmas lights - a contribution to global warming. Edited December 15, 2007 by Guest
Cate in NZ
I've voted for white I do like Christmas lights, I tend towards the subtle and discreet myself, but we've got a few houses round here that have gone all out for sticking lights and decorations all over the place. Not quite my thing, but it does make an evening stroll quite entertaining looking at all the lights

One Man Banned
Well not very exciting, but I put our tree up today and here it is Please excuse the heap of Molly toys that at one time used to all fit in that yellow box and for an artificial tree, it doesn't half lose it's needles That might just be me just not getting the vaccum out when I finished A xx

The Dogmother
I bought our tree on Saturday - a lovely 5' Nordman fir. It' as tall as me, has white lights and smells divine. I feel so Christmassy now - the stove was roaring yesterday, the lights were on and it feels festive!
