CockADoodleDoo
I was just thinking how many times this forum has helped me with any problems with my girls Id Give it 10/10 What Does Everyone Else Think?
Guest
well, it's the first place I tend to turn to when I have a chicken related query. It was recommended to me by someone on moneysavingexpert.com. I usually get a speedy response and good advice along with reassurance and I've picked up an awful lot so, yes, I'd give it top marks. The nesting box is cool too for a bit of banter
BeckyBoo
I think it's great, I very occasionally have a look at Practical Poultry but mostly everything I've learnt about chickens, including the most basic care like food, housing etc has all come from here. Plus you don't feel like a complete twit asking dumbo questions (specially when some of the more experienced users have probably heard them umpteen times already!) lisa33
It's great. Spent hours on here before I got my chickens. This forum helped me decide that I could have chickens & that it would be as fun as I hoped.
Roxanne
I mentioned to Claret earlier this evening, my husband commented that he was so impressed that if I have a problem with my girls I just pop a question onto the internet and minutes later someone has an answer for me - it is such an amazing support facility, unsurpassed by anything else. It has made owning chickens such a pleasure and you feel you are never on your own. Well done Omlet!
Olly
This forum helped me decide that I could have chickens & that it would be as fun as I hoped. Ditto - don't think I would have dared venture into chicken-keeping without the forum! I've got so many useful tips from others on here. CockADoodleDoo
I Agree Well Done Members Of The Omlet Forum!!!
Guest
I also think it's great that non-eglu owners can come here too. I don't have an eglu (not because I don't want one, it's the price) but have bought chicken stuff from the shop
Snowy
I think the Omlet forum actually is less to do with owning chickens and is more a state of mind! My OH thinks I am obsessed with chickens because of the time I spend on here. He just doesn't get it

The forum gave me the courage to go ahead and get some hens. I "lurked" for months before I finally plucked up courage.
Ain't Nobody Here
I spend time on the forum every day - I feel like I have a whole new social life (does that sound a bit sad? ). I really enjoy reading all the posts and getting advice whenever I need it. I actually watch less TV nowadays as a result and my TV Drive is getting a bit full . Roll on the holidays when I can catch up with some telly and the housework .
Egluntyne
I spend time on the forum every day - I feel like I have a whole new social life (does that sound a bit sad? Not sad at all. We I spend far more time on the forum than I should. I find it remarkable that we are able to become "friends" with people whose paths we would never have crossed otherwise. I have to keep reminding myself though that 'tinterweb is not a safe place and people are not always what they portray themselves to be online. It is easy to let your guard down and reveal too much about yourself.
Lesley
At least if I'm on the forum I'm not spending money. - that made me splutter! ......... what about all those links to stuff we don't really need??? I love this forum and don't really have time to visit others these days.
chickenlass
The forum gave me the courage to go ahead and get some hens. I "lurked" for months before I finally plucked up courage. Same here and although I no longer have my Eglu It was certainly knowing that I could get help with any problems that finally made me take the plunge into "Chickendom" [and I have to say I have never once regretted it! ] I rate the forum Excellent. Its the 1st place I look when I come online (even before my e mails ) I feel at home here cos everyone else is as barmy as me!! Its very friendly and everyone is welcoming and informative and "Ooops, word censored!"ody is ever felt "left out"/not part of the omlet community. Helly Welly
Its eggcellent!! Its nice to indulge my chicken obsession with people who are jsut as bad I have been on the Practical Poultry Forum but it doesn't seem quite as...whats the word...cosy maybe I feel much more able to say anythimg and not feel stupid on here. Its like i know you all, even though i've only met three forum members
Milly
The only "problem" with this forum is that I don't have time to log on every day and then when I do I find time there are so many posts to catch up on! But if I had found it a couple of years ago I would have bought my eglu much sooner. I thought about getting one for a long time but was always a bit nervous about keeping chickens. There is so much advice available on this forum it makes keeping them so much easier than I ever expected. Plus I enjoy reading the postings!
