Snow on the way

Recommended Posts

I've got another 12 weeks, but Owen tried to arrive 11 weeks early, so I'm feeling slightly twitchy.... The hospital is over 50 miles away - over a fairly exposed hilly, country road as well. :shock:

I think it may already be snowing over the Cheviots - the tallest had a very small snow-cap this morning, and they've ccompletely disappeared from view now.

Have you got a sledge Shona??

:wink:

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

My parents got married in January, back in the 60's and my mother woke up on the big day, to the news that Edinburgh had been brought to a complete standstill because of snow. Her car was stuck on the other side of Edinburgh, so my dad sent his bestman over to pick her and her dad up with a sledge, and he and the ushers pulled them to the church, then onto the reception after the ceremony. :D

I bet their wedding photos are amazing :lol: . And I bet the guests remembered that wedding over all the others :lol: .

My favourite of their wedding photos is one where my mum is standing in the snow with her dad, and her 4 inch heels are stuck in a snowdrift, and her ridiculous 60's pointy toes are sticking up at right angles to the ground! :lol::lol:

Unless we get it as bad as 2001 Shona you will be fine for the hospital (BGH??) They really do look after the roads in the border region :wink:

Make sure you have rubber gloves, string and plenty of clean towels and hot water. :lol:

I didn't realise you had a son called Owen.

Forget Euan as a name then.......it's the same thing more or less.

It's an industrial phrase used for the process that they use to remove the rough edges from a mould casted item. i.e. the eglus and glugs/grubs will all have been fettled when they came out of the moulds.

You learn something new every day!

Egluntine uses that word quite a lot, it's a great word.

Do I? :shock::lol::lol:

Can't hide my northern roots. Not that I'd want to!. :lol::lol:

very excited, just had our local weather forecast and they advise up to 5cm here in Devon & Somerset tomorrow :dance:

downside - lots of flight delays at work i would imagine because they give it worse for the southeast. :roll:

I LOVE snow though, shame it couldnt come at Christmas!
