New Bedding!

Recommended Posts

I have a Dunlopillow, who sells them now, I'd love another!

I don't do duvet covers, just cover the duvet with a bedspread, much nicer

I also have a fitted fake sheepskin thing on the mattress, which traps pockets of air (so is cool in summer and warm in winter :D ) and is a nice cheap way of making a bed comfy.

Glad you have your bed sorted Lesley, sounds wonderful, I love a cosy bed! 8)

I've used dunlopillos for years, until buying a couple of square european pillows when in France last year. Only bought them initially to use in the tent but they are so comfy they've gone on the permanent bed. I wish I'd kept the wrapper because I haven't a clue what they are - some sort of hollofibre, but keep their shape brilliantly! My dunlopillos were due for replacement as they were quite a few years old and these have been a cheap and effective replacement :D

Bought a new warm duvet the other day - half price at Sainsburys as 2 duvets on top of each other and snuggling up to DH was the only way i could keep warm! Need a new matress next - ours is a bit lumpy... :?

As for changing duvet covers... Anyone else have problems doing this when there are cats around?! Mine are a nightmare! (Is reason why it doesn't get changed as often as it should - honest!)

They smell rubbery to me - it lasted for ages until I just couldn't live with it :(

I have a very sensitive nose - it causes me all sorts of problems :?

Actually, I do remember that now and it does last for quite a while! Probably a good idea to air it for a few days before using, but I'm too impatient. The smell reminds me that i have a lovely new pillow! :D Mine's on order from Amazon!! :D:D

Ive got a Tempur pillow and take it with me whenever I stay away from home. I used to have terrible problems getting comfortable before, but now just put my head down and that's me sorted! I'd love a Tempur matress cover but as I know what the pillow cost 2 years ago, I expect the mattress cover would be a little out of our price range!!!!

I am, however, getting a goose down duvet (from Free Range Russian Geese!!!!) We tried one at our sister in laws and have wanted one ever since. We had lots of John Lewis vouchers saved up from the Waitrose card etc and it's on order. Mmmmmm Can't wait!

Amazingly, Amazon sells the one I like:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dunlopillo-Super-Comfort-Latex-Pillow/dp/B000LNIRTM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1199655364&sr=8-2

They also have a softer version called Serenity

Thanks for that! Aren't they expensive now? i have a Lidl shaped one as well as the Dunlopillo, but it is a little high and firm. I wonder why I never thought of googling for them  I will buy one next year when I can spend money

I think pillows count as necessity (if they really are!). You don't want to buy a second-hand one, it's not hygienic.

Mine is only a year old and still clean.

My new pillow arrived yesterday morning. I took it straight out of its plastic wrapper and bag and left it on my bed. 12 hours later, when I put the pillowcase on and went to bed, there was no smell at all. :D:D

No, fortunately! I have my own - lucky me! But there really wasn't any smell at all. I've never 'aired' it before and even DH has been able to smell it for several days. This time - nothing, not even with my nose in it!

We have got two fantastic Goose down pillows which we bought from Debenhams years ago and they could do with replacing. I bought new pillows for the children last year a mix of feather and hollow fibre at first they preferred the hollow fibre but they very quickly lost their shape and they all now prefer the feather ones, but after this week I will have to do my research when it comes to feather pillows isn't it silly what you don't think of when it comes to animal welfare :?
