chelsea
they currently have a poll on the RC forum in the "poultry" section about eglus. If you are a registered user and support the eglu why not vote/post your opinions if you want. I have!
Lesley
*groan*...... not again It will all end in tears - as it has so many times before.......I'll probably stay away At least until I've got a whole day spare
Egluntyne
I echo what Lesley says. Honestly....is this the right time to be starting another boring *Eglus are for trendies* rant. Kate....can you use your cattle prod on the RC forum....Is the flex long enough? I would have thought the timing of this poll very poor. In the light of the Chicken Out campaign end others, surely this is the wrong time to be criticising other peoples choice of housing. The only time criticism of any chicken house is allowed is if it is dirty and unsafe in my opinion.....and that is down to the owner, not the designer or the materials. How tedious. Mrs Frugal
The RC mods know how these things flare up into Eglu bashing sessions and will keep an eye on things - plus I'm a mod in that section . I'm not joining in but I'll be keeping an eye on the topic.
Lesley
Just copy your last post straight into RC Egluntine - a very good answer.........

Ain't Nobody Here
Eglu bashing? What? Who are these people?
Mrs Frugal
Eglu bashing? What? Who are these people? There are a few members on RC who are traditionalist and therefore VERY anti-Eglu and can be quite spiteful to those who have them so it's usually best to stay well out of any discussions regarding Eglus on there if you can as they invariably end up as "Eglus are for rich folks" arguments. However, the mods are all aware of the way these discussions sometimes go and monitor postings to make sure things don't get out of hand. feemcg
It get's ridiculous - I once saw an argument develop on Practical Poultry between folk that had pointy roofed henhouses and those that had flat
Mrs Frugal
It is ridiculous, isn't it. So long as the hens are happy and well cared for, does it matter what they're kept in .
BeckyBoo
I should think that, as said, if the chickens are happy and cared for, and healthy and doing chickeny things then they should stop wasting their time criticising personal choice (isn't that something wars hav been and are still being fought for? ) and maybe devote more of their obviously spare time to chicken kept en masse in huge dimly lit barns or in tiny little cages with their beaks shortened. Just my opinion but there you go. Still, orange cubes are obviously so it's a bit of a redundant point really! Mrs Bertie

Ain't Nobody Here
Are people really that petty? Obviously, so . Do they also have arguments over the shape, size and cost of their houses and cars? Hmm, thought not. THEY'RE JUST JEALOUS
Louise
There was one on P P a while back that got really spiteful a few of us were very upset by it the thread is gone now so it can't be read Lesley, Kate, myself and a couple of others were involved and it really was quite unpleasant and very personal a few people were kicked off their forum over it One person was really bad I won't mention names but she crops up from time to time elsewhere it really isn't worth adding fuel to the fire
Ain't Nobody Here
Blimey . I've recently registered for the Practical Poultry forum - haven't posted on it yet but think I'm too scared to now . Just let them get on with their petty rambling if noone argues with them they'll soob get bored.
Mrs Frugal
I was going to stay well out of that topic but someone's gone and posted that Eglus cost £50 to start off with and the guys are just cashing in. That's utter rubbish as mine was bought shortly after launch and was a lot more than £50 . Ill informed posting yet again .
Louise
and TBH Kate even if they did surely that is marketing if we are mug enough to pay over the odds Oh well I might hop over and have a read
Mrs Frugal
Where do all these ill informed opinionated people come from whenever the subject of Eglus is raised. What is the problem with buying an Eglu, for goodness sake . Does it really matter so much to them what we keep their chickens in . Oooooh, sorry, rant over .
