Ziggy
That's such sad news... he was a very talented young man... what devastating time for his family...
Cinnamon
I am so shocked & upset by this news,as are my daughters. I am a big movie fan,& he was way up there for my favourite actors He was turning into a character actor of huge talent, with the role he had just finished filming, that of The Joker in Batman, being hailed as astonishing. I always thought of him as one of those actors who gets better & better, & whose looks would last really well too. I adored him in A Knights Tale, & always looked forward to his work,as it was so well acted. He sunk himself into roles in the same sort of way Anthony Hopkins does. What a waste of a gorgeous, talented man

chelsea
He leaves a young daughter without her daddy That's the first thing I thought too Debs. Such a terrible, terrible tragedy. So did I. I always remember her name - they called her Matilda (because I love that name) Very very sad, such a young bloke with his whole life ahead of him. I think it was accidental because he didnt seem like a chap who was into bad stuff.
feemcg
He was a heroin addict Chelsea, and had battled with addictions for years - shame for his wee girl and family out in Perth
Cinnamon
I am still just reeling from this Hasn't it got a lot in common with the tragic death of one of my other favourites,Micheal Hutchence? Both young, both Australian, both leaving young daughters, both involved in drugs, both with years of life & great work ahead of them......................they even look kind of similar

feemcg
I'm not saying it was heroin he OD'd on - just that he was known to have drug problems

Charlottechicken
Sounds sad. I didn't have a clue who he was though and had to read the thread to get an idea. Not been in anything I'd ever seen! Ditto. I have heard the name mentioned but could not put a face to it. Sad though. I thought it sounded like the death of Marilyn Monroe, found by the housekeeper, naked in bed and with sleeping pills all around Probably never be solved
Ziggy
Personnally I can't understand why the press makes such a fuss of the details of the circumstances... I read two online articles this morning, one mentioned that the body was found 'naked' at least three times... one didn't mention that bit at all... I thought the second had much more human compassion... the poor guy is dead, he was in his own bedroom, I think it's absolutely unneccessary to keep going on about him being naked at the time... it's not a dignified way to talk about people... I'm not saying it is shameful or has to be secret (many people are naked in their homes and bedrooms), but that article mentioned he was naked more often than it mentioned he had died... I thought the focus was irrespectful...

I read two online articles this morning, one mentioned that the body was found 'naked' at least three times.... I hadn't thought of that, a bit like saying someone was naked in the bath really, rather obvious They have just mentioned some other ridiculous details on the news whilst showing footage of a body being removed, and a huge crowd of onlookers I must remember to not watch the news for at least a week whilst they get it out of their system.
