Egluntyne
Only if it can get under the sofa. If you drag the sofa out it will deal with it in much the same way as with an ordinary hoover.
Louise
If it fits under the sofa then yes Claret I have the 530 there is higher spec ones that will work on a timer etc which might be useful as you can ask it to worl when you are out but I don't find it gets in the way too much you just press the start button and assumimn the brushes don't get clogged it will happily work away till it needs to be charged again which is about 45-60 minutes It is not too noisy you can still watch TV etc while it works You can confine it to a certain room with artificial walls the 530 comes with one and you can get more if you want them It is a wee dumpy thing that gives out a beam which the unit can't cross but as it is only light yau and pets etc aren't hindered

Cinnamon
HmmmmmmmmmSo which is the best model to get & where is the best place to get it from then. Just idle curiosity mind,I am not going to actually get one I can just see you now, with your feet up, G&T in hand, nattering to the Roomba, Sarah! I thought you liked that naked Chippendale, who you had in to clean? I probably would talk to it you know. I always thank the Sebo when I have used it That Chippendale is lovely to look at,but awfully inefficient

Guest
I bought a Roomba 560 because it has a scheduler and two lighthouses/virtual walls. I did a search on the internet and got it for £250 with free delivery. Not much more than a good vacuum cleaner really.
The Dogmother
Not much more than a good vacuum cleaner really. Really? My vacuum cleaner cost £34 and it's lasted for ages.. cleans brilliantly too.

Mine cost £200 and that was about 15 years ago. It is a good strong one and good for asthmatics. I have to admit I have no idea how much they cost nowadays. Laura & CTB
Oh my word - I want a Scooba too I can justify it *announces proudly* all my downstairs rooms are tiled including my huge living room. Now how to convince CTB
Jeanne
I officially hate you all. I want one of those now!
clucky1
For Jeanne: I couldn't possibly justify the cost of a Roomba or a Scooby and even if I put a pound away a week - it will take me years ! I think we should have a 'I want one of those - but CAN'T' appreciation society.
Jeanne
That society would have a very long list for me I am trying to put myself off by looking at all the mess on my floors. I have 2 children left at home, and they would win a gold medal for being messy! I am sure you hav to pick up the big bits for a Roomba to work (I hope so anyway) I use the nozzle of my vac to do that as I hoover, and put them in a bag. I have arthritis in my back, shoulder and elbow, and it hurts to bend down. I am a wreck!
clucky1
You poor thing Maybe a bit of kid bribery may work for a bit of help. It 'sometimes' works for me.
Jeanne
I will try the old making cakes trick. That one usually works, and now I have plenty of our own eggs
clucky1
Thats a GOOD one - Anything sweet. If they don't help - and my kids don't either.(Plan of action) WE could always dock their pocket money - Maybe the 'roomba' isn't just a distant dream

I'd have to put a 2nd eglu and cube on that list and extra space for said chickens You may not get a scooba review for a while as collecting from near OH's parents at the weeekend. It is second hand, as is the roomba.
